On “Face the Nation” Sunday on CBS, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum explained that his view of the Trayvon Martin shooting differed significantly from the one held by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Talk about a picture being worth a 1,000 words! That is really sumpthin’!
Because he’s an unprincipled politician, pandering to the mob to avoid confrontation. Rick is not a leader and never has been.
He is typical of the reason people see so little difference between Republicans and Democrats in Congress — ‘going along to get along’ is not a principle that has any basis is liberty, individual rights, or the Constitution.
That’s my take as well. If this gets as far as the convention, I figure an 80% chance Rick will tell his delegates to support Mitt vs Newt.
With this clip of Rick and the Etch-a-Sketch and “no ties to Republicans” clips for Mitt, any intelligent voter would realize they are both idiots and vote for Newt in the remaining primaries.
If only there were intelligent voters ...

How many times will this article or some variation of it be posted? I imagine it will be posted more times because it makes the Santorum bashers feel good to have another go. I wonder how many bashers showed up on multiple threads to voice their indignation. Romney thanks them for their bashing because he is the only one they are helping at this point.
Rick gave his opinion. I disagree and think he should have simply called the loss of a life a tragedy, which it is regardless, and waited until all the facts came in in court. However, to make the deal that is being made of it here is ridiculous, and we know if it was Newt, there would be much fewer negative comments.
Santorum must be a mind reader, a psychic that can know what other people think. He is quick with the lip, not good for a president...Obama does the same thing....2 pea’s in a pod....

It’s the first time I have seen this story and up until now I could have supported his candidacy. After that ... no way in hell.

If Newt was polling higher, you might have a point, but Santorum has won 11 states to Newt’s 2. The split vote with Newt has cost Santorum Michigan, Ohio, Washington, and Alaska. Santorum has continually pounded Romney and compared him to Obama. Why would Santorum attack someone he supports? Why would Santorum spend months on end traveling and campaigning away from his daughter Bella whose life is fragile? Why would Santorum continue to spend money? He certainly doesn’t have Romney kind of dough. Why would Santorum endure relentless attacks in the media and blogosphere even among conservatives? All this just so he can make Newt lose and smile and say, “Here you go, Mitt.” Do you realize how ludicrous that sounds?
Why it come down to Mitt and Newt? If anything, based on delegate count and states won, it would come down to Rick and Mitt. I’m pretty sure Rick will tell delegates to vote for him.
If it came to Santorum vs. Romney, you’d pick Romney? What about Santorum vs. Obama?

I have supported Santorum through every controversial thing he’s said. But this doesn’t make sense. He does not know if this was a senseless tragedy or a heinous act. Until this goes before a court of law, we cannot rule out self defense. Now, zimmerman disobeyed the cops, but we don’t know to wht degree. How does Santorum know?
On this statement I think he is wrong. Or jumping the gun. We just do not know whether there was a crime.
