PHILADELPHIA (AP) — I thought my son would be much older before I had to tell him about the Black Male Code. He's only 12, still sleeping with stuffed animals, still afraid of the dark. But after the Trayvon Martin tragedy, I needed to explain to my child that soon people might be afraid of him.
We were in the car on the way to school when a story about Martin came on the radio. "The guy who killed him should get arrested. The dead guy was unarmed!" my son said after hearing that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman had claimed self-defense in the shooting in Sanford, Fla.
We listened to the rest of the story, describing how Zimmerman had spotted Martin, who was 17, walking home from the store on a rainy night, the hood of his sweatshirt pulled over his head. When it was over, I turned off the radio and told my son about the rules he needs to follow to avoid becoming another Trayvon Martin — a black male who Zimmerman assumed was "suspicious" and "up to no good."
As I explained it, the Code goes like this:

Call it whatever you want. It’s well established that he folliwed him down the street in a car. He ignored the dispatcher telling him to not follow him. He refuse to meet the cops where he was instructed to. He obviously got out of the car because that’s were he was getting beaten later. The girlfriend heard the verbal exchange too. And the only gun in the fight was the one he introduced.
So yes,,, I feel I can defend that Zimm got out and made the field contact.
My heart breaks for the young men who don’t have a father to pass those words on to them or any of the other benefits that come from a loving father. For boys who are being raised by mothers who are barely more than children themselves, who are struggling to survive.
Why aren’t Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all these other windbags who pass themselves off as black leaders, including Barack Obama, telling these “boys” to go home and claim their children, be a real man, give them a life, hug your child and tell him you love him. That will do more to solve so many problems we now face than anything else. How can a child be taught to respect anyone or anything when his own father doesn’t respect him? Who can blame them for being angry?
There was a time, a long time ago, when Jesse Jackson actually said those things.....until he realized he could make a hell of a lot more money race baiting.
My sons got an oft repeated lecture about how to treat the police. Hands up, soft talk, no sudden moves, do as you’re told.
It came in handy when ALL THREE were frog-marched home for playing AIR SOFT on the public sidewalk. The cops screeched up and drew loaded guns on them. ALL THREE sons dropped to their knees and put their hands up in the air.
My sons are white.
So did he tell his son that young black males can be murdered by other young black males and no one will notice.
These assertions are not supported by the evidence that has been released to the public.
Have you read the police report and listened to the telephone calls?
I think you need to do some more research, because these assertions have been disproven multiple times in other threads.

Let's just handle this one: I believe Zimm crossed it.
So what? Should we charge someone with a crime because you believe he crossed some line? Or do you have 1) the relevant Florida statutes he violated, and 2) evidence that establishes probable cause that he violated them?
Or should we arrest people and charge them with a crime when DesertRhino "thinks" they've crossed a line?
Some of you are going down a dangerous road with this line of thinking. We do not deprive people of liberty, no matter how horrible the allegations against them, without specific evidence that a specific crime has been committed.
If you can find a Florida statute and post it along with evidence that has been released that shows Zimmerman committed a crime, without your evidence including "I think" or "perhaps" or "probably" then you might have something.
Otherwise, you're advocating for a Kangaroo court.
A teenage Martin ran away from Zimmerman, but the pudgy Zimmerman was able to chase him down and make field contact?
That doesn't pass the smell test.
Zimmerman's contention that Martin swung back around and attacked him seems to fit the actual evidence better, IMO.
The statements of Martin's girlfriend shouldn't be discounted entirely, but they should also be weighed with the knowledge that she might also say whatever she thinks will result in the revenge she may wish for.
At an emergency homeowner’s association meeting on March 1, “one man was escorted out because he openly expressed his frustration because he had previously contacted the Sanford Police Department about Zimmerman approaching him and even coming to his home.” “It was also made known that there had been several complaints about George Zimmerman and his tactics” in his neighborhood watch captain role.
Local blog LezGetReal says that anonymous neighbors also complained of Zimmerman bringing his gun to Neighborhood Watch meetings and calling the rest of the members “drunks, trouble-makers and lunatics”.
An unnamed member of the homeowner’s association says they never heard any complaints about Zimmerman. (worried about a big lawsuit so covering their butt LOL )

Also, any responsible parent would tell his boy, very early in life: how to respect a woman; how to use a condom; how to talk real English; how to get ahead with your brains and muscles.
Seems to me that the black man’s code is so lacking.
Post the statute that was violated by Zimmerman, and the evidence released to the public that supports probable cause Zimmerman violated that statute.
I followed the same path as you, with the same disturbing result.
This is a blog. A blog with an agenda, and that agenda is against everything I stand for.
This situation is already confusing enough, with fact, fiction, opinion and deliberate misinformation all rolled into one. I would like to ensure I am viewing the same blog snowstorm12 referenced.
The Internet is great. But those of us who depend upon it for our news of the world have to surrender the simplicity of allowing the MSM to frame issues and debates for us.
We have to do the validation ourselves, and it is often difficult or impossible to do so. But it is the burden we accept, those of us who take it seriously must do our due diligence, which means not blindly accepting a source of info, even if (or especially if) that source is CBS news or the like.
That is speculation and is not indicated by anything released as yet.
It might proove true but I doubt it.

My experience over more than 70 years is that Blacks are the most racist people on the planet! Just how long do they expect the rest of society to coddle them? Rev. Manning is right. All you have to do is look at Black Africa to understand that with some exceptions, Blacks are not forward-looking people who have a desire to get ahead and prosper. Just look at all the absolutely crooked Black politicians we have. Pick a Black-run city, and chances are its a crooked cesspool ( Washington DC is a prime example). Oakland, CA was a pretty decent place to live (I know I lived there after WWII) until the Blacks took over the government there. Now it’s a mess; Detroit on the Bay. No amount of government programs will fix what’s wrong with Black Society. They are going to have to do it themselves, but I am betting that they won’t, and that’s a shame for all of us.
