...Six months after the military dropped the controversial “don’t ask, don’t tell” law barring gays from serving openly, Pentagon officials and gay rights advocates say the policy change has largely been a non-issue, with few complaints and no major headaches resulting from the new rules...

Convenient. Homosexuals can’t serve in the military. Pass DADT. Now they can serve but not openly. Repeal DADT. Now they can serve openly. Did I miss anything?

Yes, the next sordid chapter, which I won't mention.

If there WAS a problem, we will never hear about it.

Well, the glaring problems in the "survey" report were glossed over or completely omitted. What did anyone expect?

Looks like they are including “Transgender” too. Didn’t know that was green lighted too.

They are "deeming" this to be the case because they claim that many "transgenders" just haven't undergone the "transformation" yet. (why is is that you have to use so many quotation marks when talking about these realityphobes?)

But the push is on: first, to provide full "sex-change" coverage to retired military personnel, and then to let them do it while serving.

My husband attended a military academy high school during the Viet Nam war. One of his teachers told of his captain being shot in the @$$. “Take that hill!” “No.”

All volunteer armies don't shoot each other. Seriously. I know this is a widely held cliche, and there ARE indeed psychopaths who kill but those are extreme anomalies. Even though most Soldiers and Marines dislike homosexuality there will be no "friendly fire". It's ludicrous and disparaging of the honorable to suggest so. Friendly fire accidents are generally due to area attacks such as mortar fire, bombs and the like.

I suggested no such thing. A person was mocked and disparaged over whether friendly fire incidents occur. I was simply sharing an instance I knew of that didn’t come from Hollywood’s distortions. It is also a leap to think I’m suggesting this would happen simply because someone is homosexual.

None dare speak up. The conservative Christian core of the U.S. military — its heart and soul — is being driven out. We’re heading the way of the feeble and disgraceful European armies.

Yep.

The repeal in and of itself isn’t a huge deal. It’s the first time PFC Dirtbag claims “homophobia” as the reason for his punishment (rather than the fact that he’s a dirtbag) and all charges are dropped.

THAT will be the beginning of the end.

I’ve always predicted that if open homosexuality were ever tolerated in the military, serving homosexuals would be untouchable by any meaningful discipline or rules. The rampant spread of HIV, which is already reported in a base in Alaska, will be shrugged off and swept under the rug, as taxpayer dollars go to subsidize the continuance of this scourge.

ANY attempt to address the unavoidable problems created by this disastrous policy will be deemed “homophobia,” and the party addressing the problem will be the one made to face severe punishment.

Given the eggshells the higher-ups walk on for Muslims to the point of allowing mass murder, I have to agree with you.

But, hey, at least our diversity won’t be a casualty, right?

There have been male on male rapes in the combat zones. The assailants got away in all instances. I’m pretty sure if a guy IDs his rapist that there will be no reports. In that case you will probably have a friendly fire incident.
