The media is smearing Gingrich right and left while going relatively light on Santorum.
We don't know who he is, we haven't examined his record thoroughly, we blindly believe in faith the statements he as a Christian family man uses to make a quick point, and he is the last one standing to experience the negative carpet bombing from Mitt Romney.

I see it this way: it is just like 2008 all over again. ONly this time it's the values voters. And in a way, it is understandable. Like the minorities before barack came on the scene with all HIS hope and change, black people had never felt they were represented in the true halls of power, and not only was Obama going to be there for them, he was going to put our racial past behind us. Only we are more divided than ever.
Santorum voters are just as starved for someone they think will truly represent their morals and values. Only he won't. Even if he wanted to, he won't be able to pull it off - he doesn't have the political acumen.
but more worrisome than anything, SAntorum will divide this country even more, along religious lines. He will make things worse, and christians will be painted once more as the bad guys trying to impose their morality on others.
And add to it what you said about the fiscal side, and it is a debacle waiting to happen.
I read a summation of why santorum's supporters support him: Rick is a good Christian man and he never cheated on his wife. Welcome to 2012...
>> The cheerleaders can yell for a few more weeks for Santorum
LOL, and not to forget the charges of sabotage and malice for supporting the ever nefarious Newt.
I confess, I am a sinner. I support Newt and his brain.
that we were right about this. In my circle of friends,
I see no one supporting him. Most of my friends like Newt
(my liberal neighbors are supporting Romney/they say the others are too far right)
What could go wrong? (Thinking Jimmuh Carter here)
I can’t wait for Newt to say something about this...
Report: Al-Qaida Was Saddened By Keith Olbermanns MSNBC Firing...
According to Ignatius reporting, Gadahns letter only fully disparages one news organization: Fox News.
As I wrote last week, Gadahn hated Fox News, Ignatius writes. [H]e liked MSNBC but complained about the firing of Keith Olbermann; he had mixed feelings about CNN (better in Arabic than in English) and made flattering comments about CBS and ABC. Basically, he wanted to play them all off to al-Qaedas best advantage.

very important. :) Sympathizer, Keith was their hero.
True, you have burned an awful lot of 1’s and 0’s with absolutely no effect other than showing why we never win.
It is embarrassing what you and so many are doing, and Crow doesn’t go well, with socialist dressing.
ok, i decided to read all of this and see how liberal and non-conservative “statist” santorum really is. hey we all want to learn everything we can about all the candidates right? i followed all the links and i gotta say that this whole article pegs my bs meter off the scale.
summary: someone who once worked for santorum has a connection with a UN group that isn’t pro-life. so santorum must be pro-abort by implication. huh? broken links to sources? huh? ron paul as a source? boy paul who works for romney couldn’t have an axe to grind against another candidate for president. grover norquist introduces him in a video so santorum has a deep and abiding relationship with K-street? santorum says he doesn’t work with norquist (who i think is one of the r-elite) and so the introduction video proves he’s a liar since norquist is standing by him at some unnamed republican function? huh?
most of the article doesn’t even talk about santorum. it’s talking about newt and is nothing but a bald face advocacy of gingrich. wow there is no conflict of journalistic interest there.
one good thing though. if this is the quality of arguments against santorum. i feel real good about all the checks i’ve been writing lately to support him.
and full disclosure. i’ve also written quite a few checks for newt as well, as my goal is to stop romney above all else.
I would have preferred we held fast with Newt while he was pounding Romney. But regrettably, Conservative arrogance got in the way and decided to adopt a thin, but “pristine” alternative.
To the author
TIME TO DEFEAT ROMNEY.
If you want to vote for Romney fine with me but attacking Rick Santorum this late in the game only gives us Romney. Unless you want Santorum to end up like Gingrich unelectable. The bad guys are trying to claim it is over already.
I myself would have preferred to go with Bachmann, but instead I got Santorum
Romney has been protected. Rick supporters can't seem to realize Rick was that fire wall. It's the Mike Huckabee syndrome all over again. Vote for the Big Government Liberal who happens to be convincingly pro-life.
The liberals and the media know how to play the conservative electorate like a fiddle.
His taxes were posted. If you didn’t see them that would be your own damn fault.
His taxes were posted. If you didn’t see them that would be your own damn fault.
Remember, Ricky is probably still working on his taxes, which he said were sitting on his home computer, thus making him unable to release them when the other candidates released theirs.
Ricky reminds me of a particularly odious TV preacher and seems to have about that same very loose connection with the truth about his personal life.
Carter is the one Santorum most reminds me of, right down to the sweater vest.
I remember when Carter was elected, Evangelical ministers where I was living in the Midwest were literally ordering their congregations to vote for him and saying that “righteousness has finally returned to the US” or some such nonsense. That didn’t last very long, of course, even for the Evangelicals.
What's embarrassing is the majority of Santorum supporters who support him without knowing anything about his records, his corruption, his past, and base their support on the fact he's a so-called "good" christian man who didn't cheat on his wife... and he'll outlaw gay marriage, which he doesn't even have the authority to do..
No way to run a candidate, no way to run a country. What you and so many are doing is paving the way for Romney, because once Rick is vetted - and it's not even started yet - it's all over for him... It can happen now or in the general - it's up to you guys.
Most here have taken down every single conservative candidate to the point where the last man standing is going to be the one nobody wants. Great strategery.
So what you seem to be saying is that vetting santorum is attacking him (where did I hear that line before) and we need to stop vetting him so he can beat Romney, and then get vetted in the general, when it's too late to do anything but get ready for obama's re-election. That's what you're saying, right?
You santorum supporters need to think things out a little more... a little more.
