An AFP report that President Barack Obamas 13-year-old daughter, Malia, is spending spring break in Oaxaca, Mexico appears to have been completely scrubbed from the Internet news sites that first reported it. Pictures have appeared in Mexican magazine Quién.com allegedly showing Malia in visiting Oaxaca.
AFP first reported around mid-day Monday that Malia Obama was vacationing in Mexico with 12 friends under the protection of 25 Secret Service agents and a number of local police officers.
The International Business Times reported that, the group arrived in Oaxaca on Saturday and reportedly visited the architectural site of Mitla.
The Department of Public Safety, a Texas law enforcement agency, issued a warning on Tuesday against students against celebrating their spring breaks in violence-torn Mexico.
The Huffington Post reported that in February, the United States State Department recommended that Americans avoid travel to all or parts of 14 or 31 Mexican states. Its the widest travel advisory issued by the U.S. since Mexico stepped up its drug war in 2006.
Since the story was first reported, it appears to have been scrubbed from a number of news outlets. The Huffington Post, International Business Times, The Australian, The Telegraph and Global Grind have all removed the article, and AFP, which initially reported the story, now links to an unrelated story on Sengalese superstar Youssou Ndour.
It’s really scary how this white house controls the press. Is it from threats they get their power?
wild party time!!
but at least we know she won’t be punished with a baby!
state sanctioned censorship?

The story has been on the internet all day.
My thoughts exactly. ^5.
Good question.
How does the expense help Americans?
WOW!
I posted it once....and I didn’t see any demenaing, nasty comments that were any worse than your ordinary Obama thread
I wouldn’t let my child go to Mexico even if I was the President....seriously.
Please understand this is with taxpayer money
Amen dat’
I had to leave shortly after I posted, and stated a reminder
before I did that she was but a child, and being directed by her adult superiors (whom you’d think would know better), but apparently the comments must’ve gotten pretty bad and unacceptably nasty .. which is a shame.
Maybe with a battalion of marines. But only 25 Secret Service?
It is true. You will see stuff tomorrow.
Well, maybe the Mods were afraid that the thread I posted would devolve into the likes of previous ones, so they pulled it before it would happen.
Just be careful here.
Looks like my Internet got scrubbed today too.
Thanks ACORN! You too KARL.
