...[Tom Hanks has] plunge[d] into a property deal that has made him the owner of the most expensive house in Los Angeles.
...Hanks along with his actress wife Rita Wilson (last seen as Meryl Streeps buddy in Its Complicated) have together bought a house in the Pacific Palisades for about $26 million.
The sprawling home is spread across 14,500 square foot and was built in 1996. Apparently, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall formerly owned it. The building consists of 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Two levels of living space and three levels of support space go very well with gorgeous Pacific Palisades backdrop which is located quite close to Malibu and Santa Monica.

4 bedrooms??? What, his guests should please go stay at the Breakers??? Because the 3 “accessory floors” are filled with accessories?
I also reluctantly think he’s a good actor.
His politics show him to be a stupid clique leader, though. Emphasis on STUPID. All the values his movie characters stand for are shot to cheesecloth by Obama.
It is time to say good by to watching even the good actors that have a very different version of Liberty. I can’t spend my money on them period...
Don’t forget the Planned Infanticide arbortuary in the basement...
I was going to say that if I had the money, I might get a home like that, too. Until I saw it. Ugly as hell. Looks like an office building or a nursing home.
And the landscaping is pretty bad, too. Beautiful oceanside property, and they screw it all up.
Can you fix the “published date”? It was on March 16, 2010...not March 16, 2012.
The story still fits, though. Tom Hanks is a great actor with a lot of money whose political ideas are damn wrong.
He had a heavier burden dropped on his shoulders than any President since Franklin Delano Roosevelt...
If Hanks could get those words out of his mouth, he is an even better actor than I thought. Did Obama ever find himself Leader of the Free World during an all out sudden attack on the USA where thousands of people were dead within an hour????? That was only 11 years ago.
Obama’s heaviest burdens are hiding his origins and orientation.
My, my my; that’s quite a statement for an outspoken “environmentalist”
Um... $26 million? "the most expensive"? I mean, that's a lot of money but didn't Spelling Manor just sell for about $150 Million?
He’s done some decent work.
Jimmy Stewart he ain’t.
Won't hurt him, but it'll make me feel better.
Candy Spelling, widow of television giant Aaron, has listed the Manor, Los Angeles’ largest, and arguably most opulent, house up for sale at $150 million, out-pricing every other listed home in the country. Just down the street the owner of a sprawling classical style marble mansion is asking for $125 million, making it the second most-expensive home in America.
Whitney Houston lived in an equally ugly house

Follow the link I posted in reply #18. The asking price was $150 million, but it sold for $86 million. That's still more than 3x what Hanks paid.
The style is called ‘Early Gorp’
The occasionally-heard comparisons of Hanks to Jimmy Stewart are hugely offensive. Stewart served his country in ww2, lost his son in VietNam, and was a real American. Hanks, who claimed it was racism against the Japanese that was an impetus for America’s war effort, and just produced a smear-filled propaganda piece against Palin for his boyfriend Obama, is nothing but a worthless POS, typical of the America-hating scum that infests modern-day Hollywood. The bastard can just go straight to hell!
He is like so many of his ilk. Preaching at the average folks is highest level of hypocrisy. His clan like Springsteen whining about taxes being too low while using tax loopholes, AlGore’s global warming while flying private jets.
Their Hubris and Narcissism is off the scale.
Not just his politics suck, Tom Hanks has made the transformation into a human being that sucks.
How much tax dodging has he done to afford a home like that?
