The CIA wants to spy on you through your TV: Agency director says it will 'transform' surveillance
Daily Mail ^ | March 16, 2012 | Rob Waugh

When people download a film from Netflix to a flatscreen, or turn on web radio, they could be alerting unwanted watchers to exactly what they are doing and where they are.

Spies will no longer have to plant bugs in your home - the rise of 'connected' gadgets controlled by apps will mean that people 'bug' their own homes, says CIA director David Petraeus.

The CIA claims it will be able to 'read' these devices via the internet - and perhaps even via radio waves from outside the home.

Everything from remote controls to clock radios can now be controlled via apps - and chip company ARM recently unveiled low-powered, cheaper chips which will be used in everything from fridges and ovens to doorbells.

The resultant chorus of 'connected' gadgets will be able to be read like a book - and even remote-controlled, according to CIA CIA Director David Petraeus, according to a recent report by Wired's 'Danger Room' blog.

Petraeus says that web-connected gadgets will 'transform' the art of spying - allowing spies to monitor people automatically without planting bugs, breaking and entering or even donning a tuxedo to infiltrate a dinner party.

'Transformational’ is an overused word, but I do believe it properly applies to these technologies,' said Petraeus.

I find it instructional when the CIA outs their review of what they can do domestically.

The CIA is supposed to be a foreign lands agency.

“I find it instructional when the CIA outs their review of what they can do domestically.”

Yup. The 9/11 scumbags were domestically students in an American university and domestically trained to fly planes here as well.

My laptop that my company supplied at my last job had a camera at the top of the screen frame with a little light next to it letting you know it’s in use. One day I’m working away like normal and noticed the light was on. Now I have a flap over it made of black electrical tape. I pull it off when I am actually using the camera.

I don’t do TV so at least that is not an issue...

IN CASE YOU DIDN’T REALIZE IT TEMPEST TECHNOLOGY PROVIDED THIS BACK IN 1950S. I was one of two sailors to document this threat in Japan exposing our top secret transmissions back to the states.
Hell, at a private security guru, I would document such threats to private firms as part of my task between 1976 -1991

buy as much land ,live off the grid seems the only way forward and have your land full of tress covering the ground so they can;t see from above.

Yea I know far out but the way things are going we might as rip the constitution, screw the privacy, oh hang on, privacy wasn’t a certain fell done for invasion of privacy because he set up a camera in his own shared room with a homosexual who later killed himself and the left propaganda machine called the MSM thinks it’s national news.

So the Govt can watch us, got it.
College kid can’;t put a camera in his own room because a homo killed himself and that’s national news for the likes of Megyn Kelly, Maddow, Cooper etc.

What a screwed up country we are now living in

"Gonna have to get me some couch cammo for guerrilla TV watchin."

LOL. And a one-way mirror to put between the couch and the TV.

Then I can watch them watching themselves...while I watch whatever I want on TV. ;-)

Foiled again, perv overlords.

And if we can actually catch bad guys with this, why are we giving interviews about it?

And here I thought Gen. Petraeus was smart.

This is outrageous; the CIA has no jurisdiction in the U.S. and it is shocking they tout their ability to readily spy on us through consumer goods, but it isn’t that surprising considering the NSA captures all of our cellular and internet communications - this arrogance only comes at the height of tyranny.

no invasion of privacy here by the CIA they say but a college kid sets a camera up in his college shared room and a homo is caught on it having sick sex and he;s done with invasion of privacy.

There are so many wrong angles in these two issues that I can’t be bothered to post them all but to say it’;s alright for them to spy on us and come into our rooms whilst it is not alright for a kid to do a camera in his own room because a mentally sick homosexual killed himself is stunning.

What’s the betting that if this had been a jock caught having sex with a woman then it would be classed as a college prank?
Now because a mentally sick homosexual killed himself Megyn Kelly, Cooper, Maddow etc all think this is national news, why I don’t know, homosexuals kill themselves all the time as do straight folk.

The MSM can photo people and look into Sarah’s private life even move in next door and that’s alright.

Course there is a homo and a death so the queers and the corrupt MSM will try and do more laws out of this.

Petraeus described himself as a “Rockefeller Republican.”
How smart can he be?
