Let’s face some facts - Maher is hugely political, he is a ‘boss’, and he has been on Sunday morning news programs for crying out loud - and he interviews dozens of politicians on his show who discuss political issues for hours. He viciously mocks conservatives and Republicans and his attacks are taken up by the rest of his ilk. He cannot hide behind the false patina of comedy - or else Limbaugh could basically claim that same mantle. They both make their money by commenting, satirizing and mocking politics - every single day. Under Axelrod’s own logic - why is the Democratic Party so afraid to shout down Bill Maher, is he the de facto boss of the Democratic Party, or is it because he is a major contributor. Why won’t Obama’s superpac give back the money?
Maher is horrible - from calling US troops ‘cowards’ to the vile language he uses on women and he is unapologetic about it. I thought her appearance was contrived, and the weepy tears about the Church not funding contraception for Georgetown law students as some kind of crime against humanity were completely manufactured. Then what isn’t being said by the media is just as appalling - and that is Ms. Fluke wants both abortion and sex change operations to be funded by the Church. If that position was made public - she would be immediately dismissed. But the clever media is very careful how Fluke is portrayed, and they never ask those questions.
