"The closed-door deal he cut today is little more than putting lipstick on a pig," Assemblywoman Connie Conway (R-Tulare) said of Brown in a statement.

Someone in CA 'gets it'.

So how much will you collect from “rich people” who move out of the state to escape your “rich people tax,” Moonbeam?

'Bows to pressure from liberal activists' my ass. Brown IS a liberal activist - a wholly owned subsidiary of the SEIU.

The rest is all posturing for the media.

>>But on Wednesday, bowing to pressure from liberal activists, the governor modified his proposal, agreeing to cut the sales tax hike in half and place a greater share of the burden on the wealthy.<<

1% of Californians are paying 45% of the taxes. How do you think they will react when you call them evil and shake them down for more?

I moved from CA to TX this year and the more I see stories like this, the better I feel about it.

This whole, “Let’s raise taxes on the wealthy” song and dance simply plays to the folks in the cheap seats, but, when actually implemented, has been proven to raise little in real revenues.

Brown’s problem is that California needs very drasticlally to reduce taxes and, more importantly, LOWER SPENDING.

Yep, punish those bastards who dare to succeed and grow their businesses.

Yeah, those bastards who employ others.

Drive 'em right out of the state...California doesn't need them, anyway!

Yeah, that'll do it! Utopia, right around the corner! Free contraceptives and drugs for all! Yippee!

Seems like this soak the rich idea has been tried in New York and Maryland and the millionaires just packed up and left the state. Brown better read up on Lenin who said that people vote with their feet.

Little Jerry is making California less and less attractive to the Reconquistas.

Not playing fair, Jerry!

Surely all of the rich Hollywood types won’t mind putting up a little more.

For the “poor” of course.

All mansions suddenly become “vacation homes”. All of the rich officially take up “residence” in Arizona and Nevada.

Net take by the crooks in CA: Jack s#it.

the problem with teh ‘soak the rich’ strategy is as follows:
the rich pay far more taxes than the average dude. say ten to fifteen times. that money is nice, and can be used for all sorts of nice things.
but when the rich becomes no longer rich, or moves out, then guess who has to make up the shortfall?
when you raise taxes onthe rich, they move to other places, and youlose far more per capita than regular dudes who move out.
so itsn’t it a far, better tsrategy to entire rich people to move IN? for each rich dude you get, you get the revenue of ten to fifteen regular dudes!
so make your place attractive to the rich, and they’ll come to yiou, adn away from joints like california

While billions of barrels of oil sit untouched off the coast and millions of illegals suckle and drain the government teat, Brown stalks the ‘rich’. What a marvelous plan; I’m sure it’ll work.

...and in related news, Apple has recently announced that they will open a new facility in Texas for 3600 new employees

Apple Expanding in Texas

I just don't want the "locust" type voters coming to Texas. If your vote/habits ruined your state, STAY THERE.

Let’s face it..there aren’t any union workers making the minimum amount to have to pay the millionaire tax; yet the state is in trouble due to the public union pensions. I propose that there be a 2% income tax surcharge to all union members to add to the millionaire tax...like Obama says, “just keepin’ it fair”.
