Judge rules school must allow access to sexually explicit LGBT sites
Greely Gazette ^ | March 14, 2012 | Jack Minor

A federal judge has ordered a Missouri school district to unblock its web filters and give students access to sexually explicit material by the middle of March.

A US District Judge issued a preliminary junction against the Camdenton R – III School District banning them from using filtering software. The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the district claiming it was deliberately restricting access to homosexual themed sites, while allowing students to view what it claims are “anti-LG BT sites that condemn homosexuality.”

In issuing its ruling, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said the district's custom filtering system "systematically allows access to websites expressing a negative viewpoint toward LGBT individuals by categorizing them as 'religion,' but filters out positive viewpoints toward LGBT issues by categorizing them as 'sexuality.”

Joe Ortwerth, executive director of the Missouri Family Policy Council, says, “When you consider that there's a federal law on the books that obligates school districts to ensure that their computers do not allow access to materials that might be pornographic for minors, this judge's action -- considering that -- is pretty shocking.”

The ACLU’s website claims that schools cannot block LGBT sites claiming that to do so is a violation of the First Amendment. “Programs that block all LGBT content violate First Amendment rights to free speech, as well as the Equal Access Act, which requires equal access to school resources for all extracurricular clubs, including gay-straight alliances and LGBT support groups.”

Among the sites the ACLU says students have a right to view is the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. The site provides a link to “It Gets Better” which is a program advocating the homosexual lifestyle founded by Dan Savage, a “gay” sex columnist.

Savage is known for his vulgar and raunchy columns. He was also responsible for “bullying” Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum by creating a “Google bomb” that attached a vile sex term to the candidate’s name.

Savage has engaged in other hateful comments such as saying on Bill Maher’s television show, “I wish all Republicans were f***ing dead.” And has said on HBO that he wanted to rape Santorum.

The ACLU disputes that it is advocating students be allowed to view pornographic material, however, by disabling the filters in order for students to view “safe sites” sexually explicit sites will be permitted as well.

The Alliance Defense Fund, which filed a friend of the court brief on behalf of the school, noted that the “sexuality” filter blocks access to over 8,200 websites of which 7,800 would not be blocked by using the “adult” or “porn” filters and that many of the 7,800 sites contain sexually explicit materials.

The brief provided examples of specific sites that would not be blocked by the filter that provided access to pornographic images and pictures.

In the end? Look back through world history and see what has been the default regime-style.

Yep, You are right. But in the end they all came crashing down. Sadly when you think of it all human designed forms of government come crashing down eventually.

I once had a history teacher that insisted that the most efficient form of government was the clan/tribal style. Theoretically any member of the clan or tribe had the opportunity to speak with the clan head or tribal head to discuss problems.

The Gaystapo has tentacles everywhere, including on the bench.

Homosexuals can’t reproduce, they can only recruit.

Used to be, they hung out in public toilets.

Now they run our public institutions.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Parents withdrawling kids from school is a good start.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It is astonishing to me that Christian and conservative parents continue sending their children into our nation's socialist-entitlement schools. If Christians and conservatives would simply remove their children, and vote to end school taxes the entire socialist-entitlement school system could be shut down within the year.

The problem seems to be that most Christians and conservatives insist that their children's schools aren't that bad... Well...All of them are godless in their worldview. Just to cooperate in the classroom the child must think think and reason godlessly. Isn't **that** bad enough?

Also... When Christian teachers teach in the government schools, parents wrongly conclude that the socialist-entitlement schools can't be **that** bad. Gee! If sweet Mrs. Honey Bun, the minister's wife, teaches there then how bad could they be? ( They are **that** bad.)

And....Team sports and the arts are tied to the government schools. Conservatives and Christians should insist that all team sports, cheerleading, band, orchestra, arts, music, and theater be moved to the county departments of recreation.

Appears that the judge is contributing to the delequency of a minor (hundreds to thousands of counts). Jail him.

The problem with posts like this is that it implies that if we could just go back to some golden age ( pick a decade) that socialist-entitlement schooling would be fixed. It won't be fixed because it is socialist in its foundation.

Our modern system of socialist-entitlement schooling ( mid-1800s to early 1900s) was generically Protestant in its worldview. What's the problem with this? Answer: Children risk learning to think and reason in a generically religious manner as if the Faith of their Fathers” were interchangeable. What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth. Some groups, such as the Catholics, found the government school religious worldview sufficiently discordant that they started their own schools and other minorities were left to suffer under the yoke of government established religion.

In a pluralistic society it was inevitable secularism become the default religious worldview with an occasional nod to God. These are the socialist-entitlement schools that my father and grandmother attended ( born 1913 and 1894).

Today they are utterly godless.

Solution: Work toward complete privatization of all K-12 school and complete separation of school and state.

Our founding fathers fled a country that oppressed them, oppressed their religion, and imposed oppressive taxes on them for no benefit. They fought, died and created a country with a document which I believe was inspired by God and written by men who knew what freedom and responsibility means.

Our Constitution, its freedom and protection from an oppressive government can only succeed when free and responsible people shepherd it.

Unfortunately, our government is now infested with perverts, ideologues, power grabbers, socialists, outright communists, foreigners with agendas, religious zealots from afar and the average American that is too damned lazy to find out about their government and react. We’re lost.

We all need to e-mail talk show hosts with the name of the article and the newspaper.

Stand in front of the school and hand the pages out to the parents as they drop their kids off.

It's possible that parents can get an injunction to stop this from going into effect.

Haven't you noticed?

So-called conservative talk show hosts rarely cover issues involving homosexuality.

One of the communist stepping stones is to de-moralize the society, meaning to destroy its moral foundation.

The goals of communism and those of Satan are so entertwined,
it’s hard to believe no one can see what’s up.

This is one example of why there would be blood in the streets if they tried to deny the right to homeschool.

When I used to listen to talk radio, none of them ever mentioned it. Years and years ago Rush used to (always in a “funny” manner, not addressing the real dangers), but he stopped even that light touch a long time ago. And then invites Elton John to provide music at his marriage.

Sick.
