Last night on Politico's live-stream election show, Politico editor-in-chief John Harris highlighted a provocative Politico story about "stupid voters."
The Politico article by reporter Alexander Burns examines poll numbers from voters who still think Obama might be a Muslim, believe that the president can change gas prices, and appear to have conflicting opinions about the war in Afghanistan.
The article quotes Tom Jensen of the Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling who admits, The first lesson you learn as a pollster is that people are stupid. . . I tell a client trying to make sense of numbers on a poll that are inherently contradictory that at least once a week.
Harris said the story grew out of one of his "personal rants" sparking debate in the newsroom with the editors over the headline, which Harris said he wanted to be "provocative."
"They didn't want the sharpest headline -- 'Are voters stupid?' or switch to the order of the verb 'Voters are stupid., Harris said, "I think we want something a little more neutral. . .the debate was whether to go with the sharpest possible headline or a more muted one."
Harris added that voters were "expressing their opinions in a context of ignorance" which means that pollsters get results that "seem stupid even have the voters themselves actually aren't stupid."

To the headline: only the ones who read Politico.
Well, they did elect barry in 2008, so yes, they are.
Jimmy Carter, Bill Clintin, and obama. What more proof is needed.
LOL! This guy looks about as bright as a septic tank.
Public school trained.
But not for the same reasons....
LOL! If *that* bright.
This is the core belief of liberalism...the average American is too stupid to make the “right” decisions in their lives and must have liberal elites and big government make the “right” decisions for them whether it is the kind of light bulbs they use or whether they should pay for contraceptives and abortions in their health insurance. Remember Obama’s snide remark to San Francisco liberals about bitter people clinging to their guns and religion...that’s the attitude.
Obama IS a Muslim....nothing stupid about believing that...it’s called a fact.
What RJ said.
What is it with most liberals who look like they have lived under a rock most of their lives and slither out to lecture everyone else on how smart they are?! roflol! You can spot them a mile away. And they call us stupid!

Excuse me for a second, but, BWHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAH.....(pause) ....BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. There, feel much better. Thanks for the laugh.
The guy from PPP is right, though it would have been much more accurate to say "...is that MOST people are POLITICALLY stupid".
Harris was dead-on right in 2008. We’ll see if Americans have emerged from the Kool-aid - induced stupor and can actually pass their IQ test in November.
Harris added that voters were “expressing their opinions in a context of ignorance”
Is that kind of like Politico and other media’ ignorance of President Obama’s black liberation theology. Believing Obama to be a Muslim might just be giving the O the benefit of the doubt.
Actually I was thinking about this just the other day. The average American is too stupid - or - liberalism is the grown up version of “telling the teacher that so and so is bothering you and make him/her stop”.
And adult has a problem with somebody or something - they take it upon themselves to either solve the problem themselves or else just live with it (within reason of course but you get the idea).
A child goes whining to an authority figure because someone is doing something they don’t like.
I was thinking that liberalism basically reduces to ‘Waaaa -so and so is making too much money - make him stop’ or ‘Waaaaa - so and so is driving too big a car - make him stop’ and on and on it goes.
I’ve seen him eat boogers and ear wax.
The libs have lived a variation of this theme since the dawn of time:
Don’t be stupid
Be a smarty
come and join
the communist party!
(IE, you’re stupid if you don’t believe like us, and smart if you do)
