More fun with gas prices: Chu repents"I no longer share that view."

How badly is the Obama Administration terrified of rising gas prices? This badly:

Energy Secretary Steven Chu on Tuesday retracted his now-infamous quote from 2008: “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

“I no longer share that view,” Chu said in response to questioning from Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, at a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing on another topic related to DOE’s loan-guarantee program.

That’s from Amy Harder at National Journal, who goes on to describe a bizarre performance by Obama’s energy point man:

Chu seemed to equivocate, pause, and stumble over his words when responding to Lee’s question about high gas prices. Other comments Chu made at another hearing late last month put him in hot water on gas prices. Politico reported on Feb. 28 that Chu told a House committee that he was not working to lower gasoline prices but to wean the United States off oil. That story has since been corrected to clarify that DOE is working to both lower gas prices and wean the country off oil. But that was only after the story was picked up by Republicans and used against the Administration.

During his testimony before the Senate panel on Tuesday, after stopping and starting with a few thoughts on the economy and the department’s commitment to alternatively fueled vehicles, Chu told Lee: “Of course we don’t want the price of gasoline to go up. We want it to go down.”

This, from Secretary Chu’s Wiki page, confirms what I thought all along:

“He taught himself tennis by reading a book in the eighth grade, and was a second-string substitute for the school team for three years. He also taught himself how to pole vault using bamboo poles obtained from the local carpet store.”

IOW, he is a maladjusted DORK who fancies himself capable when he is not. Otherwise, he’d have understood such tidbits are better left unmentioned.

They are in full-scale panic.

The polls are collapsing. They are running out of options.

Obama is preparing to do what he always does...throw his long-time loyal supporters under the bus when they become a hindrance to his election chances.

Hello, Keystone Pipeline.

Chu talked like an escaped mental patient.

I can’t believe this fool has a Cabinet position.

This is why Obama has to be defeated in November. His administration is thoroughly corrupt and anti-American, and must be removed by the election.

Yes, this is good. But a quick quiz, if you will.

Which Republican candidate has succeeded in putting Obama and Chu on the defensive so quickly? And re-framed the debate from “women’s contraceptive rights” to American energy security?

Well, that would be Newt Gingrich, the candidate with “so much baggage” that he could not beat Obama./sarc Yeah, right. We republicans are again listening to the wrong people.

“I no longer share that view,” Chu said in response

He didn't say his view had changed, just that he would not share it anymore.

“I no longer share that view.” Lol. Share it with whom?

Exactly. The problem is that he holds that view. He does not need to share it anymore, the video will be playing from now to election.

“When I became secretary of energy, I represented the U.S. government, and I think now in this economic very slow return, these prices could well affect the comeback of our economy and we’re very worried about that,” Chu replied.

he really didn't back off...he qualified it. If the economy were great, he'd be asking for higher gas prices.

The DOE's original charter was to figure out how to free us from foreign oil. CHU has taken it to mean...free us from oil period.

"We have always been at war with Eurasia"

Sec. Chu is a perfect example of what Orwell described in his novel 1984 as "doublethink".

Perhaps he will repent from claiming there would be no snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains after 2020 and can let the farmers have their water back?

Pray for America

At the core of the liberal war on coal and oil is greed, lust for power and a burning desire to rake in more tax money and more “user fees” to finance their socialist utopia and wealth redistribution.

We can call it “Obamanomics”.

The Chevrolet Volt is the poster boy (car?) for Obamanomics.

If you think about the federal government involvement in stealing General Motors and giving partial ownership to the auto labor unions, the subsidized production and marketing of the Volt, and Obama’s war on coal and oil to drive up energy costs, making Obama’s “Green Schemes” seem more affordable you will find all of those components at work.

As the old adage goes: “Follow The Money”

I am sure the ChiComs are very happy seeing Chu sabotaging the US energy situation. I would not be surprised that he works for them. Slimy Chu claims he does not own an automobile. Well his wife owns a big ol honking BMW to chauffeur them around——>>>>>>>
