Didn't see a thread
Oh dear. You overestimate me and give me way too much credit.
Newt Gingrich gave it his best shot. He's had to go against the big money and the full assault of the media too. God bless him.
Santorum won both Mississippi and Alabama.
Thankfully and mercifully, it looks like Romney will come in third, but the fact remains, Romney can't win in the South! Brokered convention?
I am so happy about that I feel like dancing!!!
I think and hope Newt Gingrich will stay in, for several reasons. I'm certain he's the best qualified candidate and he's the one I think our nation needs for Commander-in-Chief.
Voters should vote for and support the candidate of the choice and I'll keeping praying it's Newt.
Prayers for Newt Gingrich on this tough night for him!
Prayers for Rick Santorum on this happy night for him.
God's will be done! NO ROMNEY!
Guess Newt’s speeches are over your head
Well, how’s this...maybe Romney should get out of the way so Santorum & Newt can duke it out!
Cindie
“He has delegates, so maybe, just maybe, well get a brokered convention.”
I saw him on Greta (last night?) explaining just exactly how this is where he’s headed, and how it could play out. This is why he’s in it until the convention.
I’m Ecstatic that Mittens went down the Tubes in Alabama and Mississippi!
He is the weakest Front-runner ever. If not for Super-delegates, Establishment trickery, and supposed “free agent” delegates all going to him, he would be in second place at best.
He is, literally, being crammed down our throats with every trick in the book.
We MUST prevent him from getting 1144, and we MUST broker an alternative at the convention, even if it is a compromise ticket of Non-Romneys.
"Newt-tard?" You are pathetic, in many ways.
>> I’ve said all along that I can list a hundred reasons why Newt would be a better president, but that I can live with Rick. He’s a decent man and has for the most part, unlike Myth, run an honorable campaign.
On that, we agree completely.
>> I think it’s pretty near time for us Newt peole... to rally behind the only candidate who appears able to defeat BO Light....The only path to doing that now is via Rick Santorum.
On that we do not agree. In *any* election I vote my principles: I thoughtfully consider the candidates and choose the *best* one available for the long term success of this great country. I don’t do dumb stuff like “write in” candidates who aren’t running — but neither do I “vote the herd” or “game the election” by voting against my principles because someone claims “so and so can win”.
Sorry. I have my conscience to answer to. You do what you will. Newt is a *better choice for this country* than Rick Santorum, and unless Newt drops out before the Texas primary I plan to vote for him.
If Newt drops out before Texas and Santorum is still in, I’ll vote for him then, because he will be the best choice against Romney.
Of course should Santorum get the nomination, I’ll vote for him in the general. Not with a lot of enthusiasm, but not holding my nose, either. After all, he’s a damn site better than McCain, and I voted for that loser too.
FRegards
what did he say?
For me it is not hatred. I truly believe, with all my heart and soul, that Rick Santorum cannot beat Obama. Sorry, thats just it, plain and simple. That is why I fight so hard for Newt. We are losing our country and to lose to Obama will just be what I believe to be the final nail on the coffin.
I respect your thoughts, however, just a week ago people were saying that a chair could beat Obama. Is Obama that competitive? Some here were saying he would lose to a dog. I just don’t get why people believe he is so strong all of a sudden.
If they manage to stick us with Romney I will vote (R) across the board for Congressional seats, but I WILL WRITE-IN PALIN for President I dont care if Obama wins with a veto proof republican congress- in fact it would be great cram obamacare down his throat
If I HAVE to I will support the Republican candidate that is not even of my choosing. I am so disgruntled right now with the Republican Establishment I refuse to take their calls any more. Obama canNOT be re-elected.
Thanks very much, re_nortex! I don’t know what the heck prompted those remarks to me from that poster, who’s unbeknownst to me, but I sure didn’t appreciate it.
Why were the “sudden” and “mysterious” negative polls against the Undocumented-Un were ACTUALLY REPORTED this week?
...because of the results tonight became a reality. Their Massachusetts-Mandate candidate, easily manipulated the perfect fit, may just lose.
Safety preparations are underway to force the Undocumented-Un, out of the democratic primary. As the Clinton backers, and big lobby groups of 2008 are not planning to pull the lever for The Undocumented. Clinton backers are behind the MassachusettsMandate, Forced Labor Camp U.S. Territory, age 26.
The anti-Santo folks can sure dish it out but boy, they can’t take it!
I’m really not at all happy that the accidental candidate is viable.
Believe it or not, the vast majority of voting Americans see Santorum as a religious zealot with nothing else to offer.
Obama’s headed for a landslide.
Nothing personal. Just the truth.
But enjoy your night.
Settle down buckeye. Newt is the only one that has pushed this in a conservative direction. He blows Santorum out on conservative principles. We can only pray Santorum can be pushed right and can be educated before he takes office. "Get along team playership" is not conservative aka Bush 41. Hopefully we can shake Santorum enough to be more like Reagan the Bush 41.
Pray and fasting are in order.
Yes, nothing irritates me more than the over the top chest beating by people on Free Republic who say they won’t vote for Santorum.
First it was they won’t vote for Romney (which was stupid enough).
But now, it’s Santorum.
Santorum’s not my cup of cocoa either, but he seems to be taking this.
Obama’s approval is so low any Republican can beat him... UNLESS... some of the self-righteous take their ball and sulk home people fail to vote for our candidate in a big old snit.
I will vote for the Republican candidate.
To do anything else is to vote for Obama.
And I don’t want to hear any whining about blah, blah, blah, so and so’s not a conservative.
Do you people even realize what Obama is and what he would do to this country in 4 more years. I will crawl over hard ground to vote for the Republican candidate and I have zero respect for anyone who would say different.
Santorum will NOT get the nomination. Before this process can reach the convention, Santorum, being a weak, but loyal, party politician, will have buckled under the pressure and bribes from the GOP-e and agreed to buyout terms that hand his delegates to Romney and the primary process will end.
