Efforts to silence Rush Limbaugh are apparently having a significant impact on the talk radio business as a whole, including syndicated radio shows hosted by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck.
After provocative comments made about a female Georgetown law school student, Limbaugh's show has been targeted by liberal groups that have pressured more than two dozen advertisers to drop his program from their ad buys.
Now, Rush's syndicator, Premiere Networks, is losing advertisers for other conservative programs it airs.
According to an internal Premiere memorandum obtained by Radio-Info.com, the company says 98 advertisers no longer wanted to air ad spots on any "offensive or controversial" talk programs.
Radio-Info says the list of advertisers include "carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm) and restaurants (McDonalds, Subway)."

But they are publicly funded.
Well I am sure Rushbo will be allright. He could write a check and buy his own ads and still pocket a nice profit.
Glenn Beck will be fine his online program is doing well and can be watched by anyone with internet tv to a Roku device. Its wild to watch his ads from cheaper than dirt selling guns and other great stuff. Gun ads who would have thunk it?
Anyway, I wish you well in your search.
Check with your local farm bureau for good cheap insurance on the home and car. They’re in every state as far as I know, and don’t contribute to lefties as far as I know. You don’t have to be a farmer, by the way
Excellent
Newsmax isn’t conservative any more? When did this happen?
What has FORD done?
I never heard Ford ads on a Rush show in MY area anyhow,
and I never saw them on a list of departing advertisers.
I would disagree with your analysis in a respectful fashion. When members of Congress are trying to shut down someone like Rush it is clearly a First Amendment rights issue. They aren’t doing it as private citizens they are doing it as representatives of the government.
If they don’t want to air ads on “controversial” shows I guess that means they don’t want to air ads period. Because what they call controversial are the only programs with any listeners.
Maybe some will start an “All Ads - All THE TIME” station.
My response:
1. I am going to do my best to support the advertisers on conservative radio. NOTE: LIFELOCK has not pulled their support. I am keeping my LifeLock subscription.
2. I am dis-associating myself from companies that dropped Limbaugh and others—for now and in the future. I am writing/calling companies such as JC Penney’s etc.
I wrote to ProFlowers (got no response)and then closed my pro-flowers account...There are many online flower companies; I looked at some of the websites, and they seemed competitive 1-800Flowers.com was one. Right in time for my major Easter purchases :)
Seems to me,the left can get their panties twisted and call Rush’s sponsors, but I suspect they are not buying any of the sponsors’ products. Carbonite, Pro-Flowers, etc. will suffer revenue losses as no one listens to Lib radio and Libs like to spend other people’s money—not theirs ;)
So this hater was one man away from our Pres. and many of the czars O has appointed are of like mind--Van Jones comes to mind.
vaudine
Knowing the OWS crowd they’ll want someone else to buy the powder for them!
We should also contact these advertisers...it hurts em’ when we complain by phone, email...this country needs to know which companies are willing to attempt to stifle free speech. These companies need to know We the People won't be silenced, and that we're willing to make the companies names known to the public, as well as refrain from trading with them. We need to be vocal..hit them where it hurts.
Freedom is never free...
you are missing the critical issue. It is liberals wanting to shut down conversative talk radio by threating those who advertise on their show. Without advertisement no radio show will exist.
That serves me right for being sooo serious tonight! Does anyone know who the second advertiser is that wants back on the show?
i believe they are carbonite and sleep train.
It’s crazy for advertisers to pull their ads from conservative talk radio shows, when the liberal complainers don’t listen to the shows, anyway. Where are they going to advertise, on Air America?
It can't be a single list. There's a national list, and hundreds of local lists, all different.
Maybe concentrating on the national list makes sense, and the local list can be dealt with with the local listeners.
Suffice to say that a Sacramento listener will never be hearing any Cleveland "local advertisers."
Did Congress make a law?
Nope.
So your statement is patently wrong.
The First Amendment applies to government taking away RIGHTS.
Rush and Hannity and the others still have a RIGHT to speak freely. They just don't have a many people paying them money for the privilege of advertising on their shows.
Please don't post such, it makes the Conservative movement look like we are ignorant of how the Founding Documents really work.
AGAIN, taking Rush off the military radio network has nothing to do with the First Amendment. The First Amendment allows you to speak your mind without the Government putting you in jail and such.
Rush or anyone else does not have a RIGHT to be on the Radio anywhere. He must follow the FCC rules AND if he breaks them he can suffer penalties.
