President Barack Obama on Sunday condemned the alleged slaughter of 16 Afghan civilians by an American soldier as "tragic and shocking" and assured Afghan President Hamid Karzai by telephone that the United States will "hold fully accountable anyone responsible" as the bloody incident plunged already deteriorating ties into a fresh crisis. Obama called Karzai, who denounced the reported shooting rampage as an unforgivable "assassination," to make clear "his Administration's commitment to establish the facts as quickly as possible and to hold fully accountable anyone responsible," the White House said in a statement. Obama expressed "his shock and sadness" to Karzai at the incident, which news reports said left mostly women and children among the dead, and "reaffirmed our deep respect for the Afghan people and the bonds between our two countries," the White House said. Ahead of the call, Obama received a briefing on the incident from top aides including National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, Deputy National Security Advisor Denis McDonough, and Special Assistant to the President for Afghanistan and Pakistan Doug Lute, according to National Security Council deputy spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden.

NA na na, this is not tragic nor shocking for OBama. THere is no act of tyranny he has not liked.
Somebody, please remind me what he said about Nidal Malik Hasan (the moslem who murdered unarmed people at Ft Hood).
Has he ever condemned the slaughter of American troops/American civilians by an Afghan or Iraqi soldier? Don't think so.
I’ll agree with Newt’s statement this morning. “We are better than this.” no moral equivalency, our soldiers should be judged by our standards not the Taliban’s. Let all the facts come out first. If the situation was as reported, a military court can deal with this guy. Same as the Ft. Hood killer. PTSD mat well be a mitigating factor and it is incontrovertible that the current ROE have put massive stress on soldiers, killing many.
FUBO
OBama policy is responsible for this. Obama should be held accountable for killing innocent civilians. Obama is a war criminal!
I think he should arrest this soldier, put him in a country club like Gitmo for a few years and then turn him loose like he is turning loose Muslim terrorists.
Here are some pieces and parts from Obama’s Ft Hood speech (after spending 3 minutes after getting to the podium to give “shout outs” to people in the crowd):
OBAMA: We are going to complete this investigation and we are going to take whatever steps are necessary to make sure that something like this doesn’t happen again. Beyond that, I think it’s important for me to let the investigation play itself out so that we know exactly what happened, when it happened, how it happened, before — before I as president of the United States comment on it
OBAMA: In a country of 300 million people, uh, there are going to be acts of violence that are inexplicable, even within the extraordinary m-military that we have. Uh, and, uh, I think everybody understands how outstanding the young men and women in uniform are under the most severe stress. There are going to instances, uh, in which, uh, an individual cracks.

Didn’t Obama jump to conclusions by implying the guilt of this soldier before trial and prosecution?
Ironically, I had come across a link a few days ago to a story about Sam Ybarra and the disturbing actions of Task Force Oregon (a.k.a. "Tiger Force") in the Central Highlands of Vietnam in 1967. Ybarra, who by all accounts had pretty much gone off the deep end, was never prosecuted by the U.S. military ... and most of the details of the story came out years later as a result of some research and investigation by a newspaper reporter.
And certainly there's no shortage of them around.
Why don’t you wait until we actually have a name and a face to go along with this. I don’t trust the media any more than I can throw them.
Yep. I was just about to post the same. Obama was in a good mood it seemed when he came into the room and pointed to and gave a chuckling "shout out" to his Native American bud for something his tribe had done for Obama. I even recall Obama smiling and joking. And I believe the "shout out" was for some sleazy deal he'd just done "under the radar" with the tribe.
Absolutely sickening.
I think there is a name and face attached to this, including a rank; the name hasn’t been released publicly yet.
I’d give him a medal, and turn him loose on the murderous muzzies at GITMO!
Just “crickets”, wasn’t it?
Are you an old hippie?
No offense,I was just wondering.
But more importantly an Article 32 investigation involves violations of the UCMJ and ROE (Rules of Engagement).
What do you propose? Putting them in front of "Judge Judy".
