Is this done for every president in a re-election bid, or just this one?
To: pabianice
Is this typical? Anybody know if past presidents running for reelection have had their own AF squadrons?

Didn't the Democrats yell about George W.’s use of Air Force 1 and other federal aircraft? George W. agreed to pay for the part of the travel expenses that were for his reelection. Has Obama paid one cent towards his travel costs?

Just this one. I don’t recall prior presidents needing anything beyond AF1 (and typical support units which includes a transport for the limo, security, etc). It basically looks like Obama is multiplying the usual logistics by three.

...while remaining good stewards of taxpayer funds. One red cent spent on the current POS President's re-election campaign would be a waste of taxpayer funds.
Definitely should be paid out-of-pocket by the Kenyan Re-election Campaign Committee.

This is a WAR, against the U.S.A. as presently constituted and governed through its Constitution.

The bastard already has the bully pulpit. There is ZERO excuse for him to leave the Whitehouse to campaign.
We could come out cheaper as tax payers, if someone would just figure out how much money bozo is going to raise for the Democrats and just cut them a check, instead of wasting all this fuel, manpower, and tying up businesses and traffic in all the states he is going to.
Our election process is seriously broken and in need of reform and major restrictions on this type of abuse.

More for Dems than Republicans.
My old Reserve unit at Andrews, 756 ARW and its B Model C-141s were run ragged by Clinton & company during his re-election bid. Moving the Secret Service and many, many limos (2 per aircraft) across the US.
One day we went through 3 C-141s before getting a Banner Mission off the ground. Mostly due to last minute add ons and maintenance problems.
Great for budgeting. Lousy for the troops.

The 2012 election will NOT be about the economy. We will be in a war situation and Romney has no foreign or military history. Obama would lose to Romney over the economy, but he is preparing his reputation as the killer of Bin Laden etc. etc. as a military strongman.
Isn’t it obvious? Romney should get Bolton and some military figures on his team. Perhaps as a Veep candidate.

How about Romney just realize he’s in over his head (and there’s barely anyone who wants to vote for him) and resign from the race.
Seriously, he’s the same but, different candidate.
