It didn't get much notice amid the buildup to Super Tuesday. But after conservative outcry over his support for raising the minimum wage, Mitt Romney quietly reversed his position this week.

SOB with his finger in the air again. How anyone votes for this spineless weasel is beyond me.
I know, what HASN’T he flipped on?
Worse...when the minimum wage goes up, it prices out low skilled (and young, inexperienced labor), causing a rise in unemployment among their ranks. Their only advantage competing against more experienced workers is their willingness to accept lower wages. The minimum wage takes that weapon away from them, and more experienced (especially union) workers love the minimum wage, as it destroys their lower skilled competitors.
The minimum wage is just another way of saying that jobs that pay less than the minimum wage are illegal. It’s no way to help the poor to eliminate the very entry-level jobs they need.
Reversed himself again! Typical Gypsy, IMHO! The big question is, IF the flipper did get elected, how many of these reverses would he reverse AGAIN, and go right back to his Massachusetts RINO modus operandi?
You’re right. Remember when movie theaters had ushers? Remember when gas stations had attendants who served you?
The minimum wage forces employers to pay employees more than the work is worth. Low level entry jobs are the the casualty (minimum wage laws hurt poorer people).
John (flip-flop) Kerry is that you?
“So, what is gained? “
Jobs for illegals.
No... no, this guy’s never been to Vietnam.
Romney will say anything to get elected, as will Obama.
Not inspiring.
That's absolutely true in all respects. In addition, the minimum wage is simply a modern form of slavery since it sets an artificial price on the cost of labor. It's anti-liberty and in opposition to freedom because it makes it illegal for an employer and employee to negotiate a price. No wonder union goons support it. They're racketeers and the minimum wage is part of their extortion scam.
Abolish the minimum wage and then make Right to Work the law! Then watch America resume its rightful place as the supreme economic engine of the world.
Gee, Kerry served in Vietnam? Who knew. LOL!
To the headline: of course he does. The alleged man has no core.
BTW, I am still hoping that the Grizzly jumps in and saves us. This time we must show her we really want it :)
Might need to clean out a few Doubting Thomases to convince her.
Hi, I’m Mitt Romney, and I’m for whatever. No, wait, I meant I’m against whatever.
Whatever...
In many cases illegals take the unskilled labor jobs under the table...so the lower skilled legal worker that must be paid minimum wage is also competing with illegals as well as experienced workers.
Before minimum wage and a glut of illegal labor in this country it was possible (especially in construction) to go to work as an absolute unskilled, unexperienced worker and work up to supervisor or even own their own company. That bottom rung on the ladder job is very hard for a legal citizen to get now so working up from the bottom to a great job or building your own business has become all but impossible.
I agree with you basically, but enough pressure COULD force him back toward at least the center, and maybe further right. Obummer, by contrast, just digs in his heels and strains even further left.
Some “facts” about minimum wage:
A federal minimum wage was first set in 1938 at $0.25/hr
In 2009 the minimum wage was set at $7.25/hr.
Over the years, minimum wage has outpaced inflation!
What that means is if minimum wage was indexed to inflation,
in actuality it would have followed a lower rate. I guess
this Romney dude wants to screw the people at lower end of wage scale.
