Former President Jimmy Carter expressed concerns Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be too willing to go to war with Iran.
I dont think thats his first preference, but I think hes much more eager to go to war with Iran than President Obama [is]. And I was glad to see President Obama discourage that immediate resumption of hostilities between Israel and its neighbors that the Israelis seem to be inclined to do, the former president said in an interview with The Washington Times-affiliated Americas Morning News radio broadcast.
Mr. Netanyahu is in Washington this week to meet with Mr. Obama and other American leaders about the Iranian nuclear program, and Mr. Carter said my hope is that President Obama will prevail and we can avoid war with Iran.
I think the economic sanctions would be adequate, Mr. Carter added. War with Iran can and should be avoided.

Who cares what this idiot thinks!!!
Well, at least he'd go to war with more than the 5 helicopters you did.
Pretty easy to say when you don’t live on ground zero.
Me: Carter too eager for another Holocaust.
Mr. Carter undermined the Shah, and was subsequently humiliated by the religious fanatics that took over.
We don’t need your advice. Actually, it would be more helpful if you just kept your mouth shut on anything relating to Iran.
Don’t forget that this comes form the lesser of the Carter brothers. Billy had a pair.
Carter is nothing more than a drooling antisemite. Israel doesn’t need this cowards permission to attack Iran and I thank God for that.
They assured me personally and they have made public statements accordingly that they will honor the peace treaty that I helped to negotiate back in 1979 and I dont have any doubt that they will carry out their promise to me.
Oh...well if they assured you then I'm sure it's fine. Muslims wouldn't dare lie to infidels like you Mr. Carter...
Q You might not be beating the drums of war, but you did very publicly say, weve got Israels back. What does that mean?
THE PRESIDENT: What it means is, is that, historically, we have always cooperated with Israel with respect to the defense of Israel, just like we do with a whole range of other allies just like we do with Great Britain, just like we do with Japan. And that broad statement I think is confirmed when you look at what weve done over the last three years on things like Iron Dome that prevents missiles from raining down on their small towns along border regions of Israel, that potentially land on schools or children or families. And were going to continue that unprecedented security security commitment.
It was not a military doctrine that we were laying out for any particular military action. It was a restatement of our consistent position that the security of Israel is something I deeply care about, and that the deeds of my administration over the last three years confirms how deeply we care about it. Thats a commitment weve made.
Geez! Life is soooooo unfair. Ronald Reagan lives out his post presidency slowly dying of Alzheimers while this idiot stays healthy as a horse and won’t close his stupid mouth!
Give ole Jimma a hammer and tell him to go pound some nails somewhere.
And not to forget, both The Pig Kennedy and St. Jimmy went to the Soviet Embassy to ask for help in defeating Ronaldus Magnus.
Try to imagine what the world would be like today if this putz had dealt forcefully with the mullahs when he had the chance.
After Carter failed against Iran in 1979, he should never be allowed to ever criticise anyone on Iran. Reagan proved how much of a wuss he is. Netanyahu is doing the same.
If it were in his power to do so, Jimmy Carter would physically help Iran, throw Jews into the ovens. The man is a disgrace and no friend of Israel or the Jews.
Dear Jimmy, STFU ! We voted you out of office in 1980, the best thing to do is go back building houses and keeping your mouth shut.
“Former President Jimmy Carter expressed concerns Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be too willing to go to war with Iran”
Well we all know Jimmah wasn’t.
Hard to believe (in normal circumstances, but I agree with you about Carter here) he being a Christian would have this type of hatred or anti semitism towards the jews. Does he not know Jesus?
