Rick Santorum is just ahead of Mitt Romney in the Ohio Republican presidential primary with 25% of the vote counted.

All eyes were on Ohio, a traditional bellwether state that could play an important role in deciding the Republican nominee to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama on November 6.

Santorum is leading Romney at 39% to 36%.

I guess the country was doomed when the city life became the dominant way of life.

There is some thruth to what you say.

In an urban environment, people are automatically more dependent on government.

Police & fire protection

Public transit

Traffic control

Zoning

Licensing

Et cetera

Haha, no, but, he looked danged ridiculous in his designer blue jeans. Yep, just one of the regular folks like the rest of us - who own 5 houses and God only knows how many expensive cars. I don’t begrudge his wealth, but, for him to don blue jeans and criss cross Ohio, was just plain stupid looking to me. He looked so ill at ease in them.

First time in my State to require ID. The only ones complaining were...drum roll...Democrats, and only a few of them. Most folks complied readily and many, including some Dems, said they were glad.

In my Precinct Santorum won over Gingrich by less than five votes.

I suspect Newt has done well in Oklahoma. Yes, Santorum won but Newt was very strong, at least in my area. Santorum won by less than five votes.

Re: Ohio it looks as thought the race is tightening with 81% reporting...

I was afraid of that - its close enough for a good vote manufacturing operation to swing it Willards way.

Looks like Rove-Romney are finding the needed votes just in time for the 11pm news.

I just took a look too, and six thousand votes separate. Only one county seems to be out.

Did you happen to notice the Perry/Huntsman votes. There were about 11,000 of them, and you can’t help but think these folks wouldn’t have backed Romney.

What a bunch of absolute fools. To make a point, they may have tossed this to Romney. Well, the point confirms what I was thinking about Perry/Huntsman voters...

We have our share of fools on this board, too. I've been trying to make this point all week - we need to go for the strongest non-Mitt candidate in each state regardless of whether its Newt or Rick.

I hear ya.

It seems like folks go all-in for their candidates. You know what, if Newt had taken more states than Santorum tonight, I was ready to toss in the towel. I just don’t see that much here.

I am hoping that cooler heads will prevail in a couple of days, but I doubt they will. It will be quadruple down time on Santorum. Get ready for an avalanche.

So I guess the urban areas trend to the more liberal candidate even within the more conservative party.

True. There's an urban rural divide. Worse the liberals and rinos flee the urban areas to suburban areas and then proceed to screw them up. In Ohio, those counties adjacent to urban ones become more liberal.
