We are five days away, the future President famously said in October of 2008, from fundamentally transforming the United States of America
So how does Barack Obamas fundamental transformation look to you now?
If the world seems chaotic to you, youre not alone. President Obama promised change during his first campaign for the presidency, and in less than one full term hes delivered.
American foreign policy, historically devoted to protecting American interests and championing liberty, is now focused on outreach to people who want to destroy us. But the transformation has not just impacted Americas place in the world.
Your private world your day-to-day environment and the cultural norms that order that environment is changing as well (so is mine). And while its difficult to measure peoples changing attitudes, there is clear evidence that Americans are increasingly developing a negative attitude towards work, productivity, and success.
Depending on what poll youre reading, roughly half of the American population agrees with President Obamas assumption that rich Americans need to be taxed at a higher rate. Concerns about undermining peoples incentive to achieve just dont matter to many of us making somebody else pay makes a lot of us feel better.
There also seems to be a change in Americans attitudes towards working. And while there are far too many of us who are earnestly trying to find work and cannot, there nonetheless appears to be growing numbers of us for whom working is just not a priority.
The reality of Americans choosing to not work or, at a minimum, choosing to work less would seem to be a very intentional consequence of President Obamas agenda. Indeed, it has long been the belief of the Presidents science adviser John P. Holdren that the world would be a better place environmentally if Americans worked, produced, and earned less.
This may seem counter-intuitive, yet the numbers dont lie. As the unemployment rate has recently dropped a bit, so also has the labor force participation rate the statistic that represents the ratio between the labor force itself, and the overall population. Assuming that the Bureau of Labor Statistics is telling the truth, participation in the labor force has dropped to a 30 year low, as roughly 1.2 million Americans recently chose to exit the labor market.
Its difficult to deny that the decline in the number of people who want to work correlates with the Presidents agenda. At the very least, one has to admit that this change corresponds on the timeline with Mr. Obamas presidency.
Yet within his first three years as our President, weve seen the amount of direct federal payments to individual households both direct payments for specific usages, and for unrestricted usages skyrocket by more than $600 billion. One might argue that these direct payments rose out of necessity because of the recession, although President Obama has slated for another $500 billion worth of annual increases in direct payments between now and 2016. If the trend continues, within the next four years direct payments will account for two-thirds of all annual federal government spending.
But wait, theres more. A record forty-nine percent of all American homes have somebody living in them who is receiving some sort of federal benefit. And reliance on food stamps has expanded forty-five percent during the Obama presidency, thanks in no small part to the Presidents insistence that the expansion of food stamp funding be included in his economic stimulus bill.
So has the expansion of federal assistance brought about fundamental transformation? President Obama insists that it creates a sense of fairness in our society. Yet its difficult to argue that it doesnt create at least some incentive to cease being productive.
And then theres President Obamas signature healthcare reform law. Nearly two years ago the Congressional Budget Office warned that with all the robust entitlements that the law promises, it would most certainly impact the labor market.
Speaking at a little-noted event at the University of Southern California in October of 2010, C.B.O. Director Doug Elmendorf noted that, outside the healthcare sector of our economy, the greatest impact of the Obamacare agenda would be with peoples interest in working.
Furthermore, Mr. Elmendorf stated that, in some cases, Americans would simply choose to no longer work, because their needs for healthcare will be provided by the enhanced Medicaid funding entailed in the Obamacare law.
Proclivities to make somebody else pay, and a declining interest in working indeed America is being transformed. Will voters choose more of it this November, or will we choose to get back to being Americans?
There are many who have fallen to the great decievers lies.
Obama’s actual record of accomplishments are all negative...and the media wants to talk about birth control.
If the topic becomes the price of gas and 25% unemployment and underemployment Obama loses. Let’s see if the MSM can keep this up until November.
Remember when ABC hosted the GOP debate...nobody could figure out why six minutes of questions were about contraception. Three weeks later the attacks on the Catholic church began...and according to the media Republicans were anti-woman.
Not a whisper about the trashing of the establishment clause. Not one word.
The media MUST be confronted...if for no other reason than to respect the memory of Andrew Brietbart who gave his life either directly or indirectly in this fight.
Every GOP candidate needs to confront questioners when they are put in a box. Enough! ABC, NBC, and CBS are in the tank for Obama...it is as clear as the sky is blue.
Remember Breitbart! Honor him by confronting the corrupt media.
There are many who were taught to believe the lies. I’ve got kids whose mothers taught them 26 days out of 30 days a month to be liberal. They TRULY BELIEVE that if we let anyone have an abortion who wants one, free of charge, and allow men and women and dogs and cats and men and dogs and women and cats to marry, and if we share our wealth and power equally to those who hate us, and we change our national anthem to “It’s a Beautiful Morning” by the Young Rascals, we will all live in one big happy world.
transformed?
more like digested, etc. and only one final grunt needed...
Semper Trvth!
*****
Occupy the MSM.
Bump
bump

The only important question to be answered is “can it end bloodlessly?”
We will know in November.
Isn’t It Ironic? The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.
Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to “please do not feed the animals” because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.
the sheeple should have known we were in trouble when Valerie Jarrett said on Meet the Press 11/09/2008: “President Obama is prepared to take power and begin to rule on day 1”
President Obama promised change during his first campaign for the presidency, and in less than one full term hes delivered.

I commented on a different thread some time ago that 0bama’s followers theme song should be the one with the refrain “ Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies”.
Add to that Michelle’s comment with the words to the effect “ when Barak is president you will not be able to go back to your life as you knew it”...
“The media must be confronted!”
Disagree. The visceral, psychotic, vein-throbbing Progressive media need to be institutionalized.
They are the reason why emptying the insane asylums and then mainstreaming was a bad idea.
IMHO
One fruitful avenue for approaching the problem will be the vulnerability of the dinosaur media to removal of the special preferments they receive in law, such as an exemption in many cases from the Sherman Anti-Trust Act (in newspapering, where different dailies often share plant, and in TV, where coverage areas overlap).
Another would be the number of Mediots who are tax-supported (CPB/PBS for example), or who are supported indirectly by tax moneys supplied by tax-exempt foundations whose boards are playing politics with foundation funds (this has been going on, as Bill Buckley, James W. Wilson and others have complained, since the 1950's).
