Karzai’s Response to Obama’s Apology: Put U.S. Troops on Trial and Punish Them By Terence P. Jeffrey February 26, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - Three days after President Barack Obama dispatched his ambassador to Afghanistan to hand deliver a personal letter from the president of the United States to Afghan President Hamid Karzai apologizing because U.S. forces at Bagram Air Force Base had mistakenly burnt some Korans, Karzai has responded to the gesture in a statement broadcast live on Afghan television.
Karzai, according to a BBC translation of his remarks made Sunday, told the Afghan people he was speaking to them after discussing the matter with “jihadi leaders,” “prominent scholars,” and Afghan elected officials, and that he spoke for the “pure sentiments” of the “Afghan nation” and the “Islamic world,” when he said: “We call on the US government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.”
At the same time Karzai was demanding the prosecution and punishment of U.S. troops involved in the Koran-burning incident, he conceded that the U.S. government had indicated that the Koran burning “was not deliberate.”

Your statement most likely is shared by many here. But then the realities set in. However, November comes quickly. Perhaps next January we shall be rid of this current administration and have one that starts to gravitate back toward what we hope can become a reality once more for America.
He actually said that? Is no one in leadership going to stand up to this POS, at least for the troops? I NEVER use this phrase, but I use it now-God D*MN Hussein, God D*MN him. HOW did a majority of Americans ever become stupid and treacherous enough to put this POS into office? I’d love to ask POS McCain of he still believes we have “nothing to fear” from an Obama presidency-he is on a mission to destroy our military. He’s not concerned with the economy nor does he have the knowledge to even understand it-his one and only reason for being in the White House is to destroy America and our first line of defense and the patriots remaining in it. I despise him, wish the worst that can happen to him, whatever that may be, DOES happen to him. It may be the only way to save this nation from him, since too many Americans are too stupid to care what happens to their own nation as long as they get their gubmint gibmes. They’re too stupid to see that even if that’s all they care about, they are destroying the goose laying their golden eggs and they’re going to get just the society they wish for whether they realise it or not. Detroit and Birmingham are right there to warn us.
How about get every one of our troops the hell out of the crap hole that is afganistan.

Only an apology from Karzai and every muslim in Afghanistan will stop me. They have about three days before the piece of $hit book is delivered and nature takes it's course.

Pull all troops out of that money pit—lets see how long Karzai lasts without US backing? A week? a Month? We got OBL so why are we there? Its looks like they Want a Taliban Government in charge.
We DO need to leave, but we have a lot of gear and equipment there. I suggest we nuke a canal from the Indian Ocean up to Bagram Airbase.
And as a bonus, the simplest route would go through Karachi, Waziristan, and Kabul. An even BIGGER win. . .

He said it in his apology yesterday. I hate him too. He’s doing terrible things to us.
The one good thing about it being an election year is the apologist in chief would never do this. Even the mushy moderates would have a hard time defending this. BUT, if he gets 4 more years that’s another story. The trial could be pushed off until next spring.
From a secular viewpoint, I am so dispirited. How could anyone believe anything will get better when the overall trajectory of the past decades indicates otherwise, and every last politican from anywhere on the spectrum is either a true believer in one anti-American agenda or another, all working together to the same end, or cynically in it for the take? Even the few on the right who may go there with simcere intentions gets co-opted, because if they don’t get co-opted, they get gone. Corruption can’t have integrity around with the threat it presents of exposure.
I thank God that the secular viewpoint is not the one that matters, in the end.
