Act of Valor Trumps Hollywood’s Asinine Squalor
Townhall.com ^ | February 26, 2012 | Doug Giles

Finally, a 21st century movie that doesn’t portray our military as corrupt, stupid, confused torturers who murder innocent babies.

Act of Valor, which opened this weekend, features active (and anonymous) Navy SEALs in the re-creation of real events that showcase our crème de la crème rescuing our operatives and crushing our enemies in an OMG type of way.

I’ve got two words for the manner in which our boys were depicted in this flick … Sa-lute!

If I were a wannabe enemy of the U.S.A. (foreign or domestic) I’d be crapping my cargo pants (or tunic) after viewing Act of Valor—chiefly because our special forces are some bad mamajambas who have the tools and the tenacity to jack you up.

Yep, be afraid, villains, as our troops are effective ministers of God poised, ready and willing with stealth and style to inflict the wrath of God on those who do evil. I’m talkin’ Romans 13:1-5 style. Look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Another thing that I truly enjoyed about this film was the unambiguous patriotism of the soldiers and their families. Yep, no whining about their missions from their families or the SEALs who sacrificed their lives and limbs for God and country. It almost felt like I was in America again as I watched this movie. It was weird—but a good weird.

Even though it’s shocking to see our troops displayed in a magnificent manner within this Occuculture that loathes them, it was not a shocker to me; I have had the good fortune to spend time with many of our special ops and other soldiers in hunting camps from Alaska to Texas and have found them just as the movie displayed them: consummate class acts without a hint of the BS Hollyweird has smeared them with over the last decade.

I can’t say enough good things about this movie. In the theater in which my wife and I watched it we spotted several older gents and couples who sat in their seats and silently wept as the credits rolled. It was sacred.

I’m sure all the scabs and the venomous wood lice of the Left are going to crawl out from under the rocks where they dwell and bash this war pic, but that’s alright. Our SEALs and others have afforded you the right to be stupid and bray your insanity by keeping bad guys at bay, both at home and abroad, and thereby giving you the wherewithal to play your silly and ungrateful games against our fair land.

Lastly, parents, take your teenagers to see Act of Valor. Maybe, just maybe, some of the courage, patriotism and dignity depicted in this film will erase the film this crappy culture has slimed your kid with.

God bless America, our warriors who protect her, and those involved with this movie. Amen.

A Russian drug smuggler living in South America is helping the main terrorist, a Chechen islamic jihadi get suicide bombers into the US via Mexico. They were childood friends who played soccer.

The Russian is captured, and the interrogator points out the irony that the Russian has a Jewish last name, but is helping an islamic terrorist.

Some other post on FR had someone trying to make this out to be some sort of gross anti-Semitism. That notion is completely absurd.

Along with independent moviemakers, some foreign studios have put out some outstanding 5-star movies in the last few years that hardly get any notice over here, but would make any Freepers “gotta see” movie list.

Such as:

Max Manus-Man of War

As Far as my feet will Carry Me

Sophie Scholl – The Final Days

(all available on Netflix)

Actor Stephen Baldwin & CEO Kevin McCullough, principals of XtreMEDIA (http://www.X3Media.net), a New York City based media company, are speaking out in defense of this weekend’s “Act of Valor” movie produced by Bandito Bros., and distributed by Relativity Media.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 24, 2012

Responding to attacks largely from voices on the political left, by pundits and writers who have by most measure not seen the film, Actor Stephen Baldwin & CEO Kevin McCullough, principals of XtreMEDIA (http://www.X3Media.net), a New York City based media company, are speaking out in defense of this weekend’s “Act of Valor” movie produced by Bandito Bros., and distributed by Relativity Media.

“For bloggers, opinion writers, and journalists who have seen only the trailer to label this film ‘propaganda’ or ‘pro-war’ or anything of that ilk, is irresponsible and absurd,” said CEO/Principal Kevin McCullough. “It is first and foremost an amazing piece of entertainment, followed by a close second as a resounding statement of honor towards those who do these dangerous jobs to keep us free.”

“The makers of this film, made this film, because they really haven’t felt good about how the military has been depicted in Hollywood in 30-40 years,” said Stephen Baldwin, President/Principal. “One of the major things we attempt to do through our radio show (Baldwin/McCullough *LIVE*) is to do anything we can to show support for our troops.” “The filmmaker’s Q & A following the screening was also very telling. Their primary motivation for making this apolitical movie about the life of Navy Seals was primarily to pay honor and tribute to the sacrifice these extraordinary individuals make in order for all the rest of us to walk around free.” added McCullough.

“This story is a story that is all about the brotherhood of being Navy Seals,” said Baldwin, “This film had me riveted on the edge of my seat, and I’m an actor!”

Stephen Baldwin & Kevin McCullough are not being compensated for any of the public relations and media attention they have generated towards the opening of this film.

“This is a passion for us, my brother in law is active duty Navy being deployed in F18s directly into the dangers we face today,” surmised McCullough. “For the political, theological, or cultural left to attempt to destroy this apolitical story by a secret whispering campaign of disdain, is in a word, un-American.”

I don’t mind if someone uses the F word occasionally, but if someone uses it continuously and constantly, I wonder about their mentality

No wonder here, they are idiots. If you ever hear me say that, it means I am PO'd beyond measure since I never say it.

Dropping it every sentence kind of lessens the impact, great going Seth, you're a lousy actor (not funny either which is an enormous sin if you can't act) and God knows what kind of human he is.

“portrayed as people without personality flaws”

Hollywood truly hates heroes who are not deeply flawed.

(The Clinton administration also had this attitude, and Bill and Hillary would not let anyone near them who *did not* have a bad personal failing known to them. They felt they could not *trust* honest and upright people. Plus, they wanted something to destroy them with if they turned on the Clintons.)

(Oddly enough, they shared this same sensibility with Adolf Hitler, who surrounded himself with freaks and deviants.)

In any event, Hollywood craves to tear down heroes, not build them up, using the excuse that there *are* no heroes, and to portray the heroic is just propaganda. So they use “deconstruction”, negative propaganda, to do this.

This is why the remake of The Alamo was such an incredible flop. Audiences wanted the heroes of the Alamo portrayed as the heroes they were, *not* to have them depicted as bigoted, cruel, stupid and cowardly, as Hollywood depicted them.

This mood even extends out of the US. Not too long ago, a Mexican film director made a movie about an almost mythical Mexican hero, and he pulled out all the stops to make him look noble and magnificent. The Mexican movie critics were terribly bitter at him, and utterly hated the movie, giving it terrible reviews and said it was full of lies.

But the Mexican public *loved* the movie, because it showed them a Mexican hero they could be proud of. No scandal, no personal failings, no war crimes, etc. An ideal hero.

To ALL,

On the 22nd of February, the US Supreme Court heard arguments about the Stolen Valor Act. I truly hope that every justice gets a complimentary DVD of this movie ASAP.

I suspect that the number of fake SEALs is going to go through the roof. The VeriSeal organization has long been getting 200 fakes for every real SEAL they verify.

America needs the Stolen Valor Act to nail these scum.

"And really, how likely is it that a recruit with personality flaws is going to make it into the program, let alone make it through BUD/S?"

The question is unanswerable.

"Is it true the main terrorist in the movie is a Jew?"

NO! And I don't want to give away too much of the movie to elaborate.

Saw it yesterday. Great movie. Somewhat like Black Hawk down, but the actors were obviously not Hollywood actors. Made it even better.

Jesse Ventura made it through BUD/S.

Seems it’s not without the realm of possibility.

Such utter garbage. "Act of Valor" should really be called Act of Goebbels for its having a slavic Jew (Christo) as head of a Islamic, fillipino terror group.

The movie is a combination of a principle in "Mein Kampf" plus the theatre of absurd.

Muslims would not make a Jew head of their terrorist gang or head of Muslim terrorism. That is not how Islam works. The stuntmen/producers of this movie did not have the guts to focus in on Islamic terror so they made a Jew the top baddie. This movie will help spread antisemitism sublinamally as the Jew is the one behind Islamic terror(?).

That woman whom I can't mention on this website had a score rating for this so-called "Act of Valor." She gave it

FOUR GOEBBELS PLUS A BIN LADEN PLUS AN ARAFAT

I don't think it's really that sinister. It's just more interesting and more realistic. People aren't perfect, even great people.

That's why I found the "John Adams" series to be so fascinating. The Founding Fathers weren't gods; they were flawed people, too, grasping for a solution to a very big problem, and a number of them didn't even agree that we did the right thing any step of the way (I'm mainly thinking of Jefferson here).

I've been around the military for most of my life, and there are some fantastic people in it, but they have their issues. Most people don't know any Spec Ops guys in general or SEALs in particular. They want to know what they're like, and it could be distancing for some to see them portrayed as a group of Adonises. Others may like it as an aspiration of something to be.

It really just depends on who's watching and what they're looking for, I guess.

IMHO there is one very big side affect from this movie.

Any attempt by Obama and his liberal-progressive-socilaist support network to produce a pro-Obama movie based on the Bin Laden raid of last year should be canceled.

How could a movie produced by Hollywood compare to the real thing? Even Hollywood's best stunt men said they could do what the real SEALs do in training much less on real operations.

I haven't bought a DVD in years - none of Hollywood's best were worth a plugged wooden nickel. But, this one will become part of my personal collection.

Wonder what its box office return will be? Also wonder where it will appear in the 2013 Oscar list?

I took my Gf and my son to go see it yesterday. We saw it in a multplex cinema in a very conservative town with a high population of Vets.

A great movie.I expect the muslim loving liberal brown nosers will start attacking it from every angle, can’t have the sheeple of America starting to grow some patriotic balls now can they?

I saw one a few months ago that was among one of the most moving flicks I have ever seen in my life. A Russian flick called “The Thief” or “Vor” which I guess is Russian for it. A great movie on the importance of a father figure in a kids life which is why I guess I never heard of it being that it goes against the liberals propaganda on the beauty of single motherhood. The movie is about 15 years old and it was completely buried, at least it was to me and I watch a ton of flicks. Thanks for the heads up on those other ones you mentioned, I’ll look them up. Just finished watching every movie Charlie Chaplin ever made, at least most of them I think. All the major ones at least. I don’t know why I never saw any of his stuff before.
