It appears that Rick Santorum has begun collapsing under the weight of Romney attack ads and the last debate:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/az/arizona_republican_presidential_primary-1622.html

Rick has gone from a ten point lead in MI to a 3-6 point deficit in a little over a week, and in that same time span has gone from essentially a tie in Arizona to 10-15 points behind Romney today. His national lead has evaporated completely.

Can anyone withstand the bottomless pockets of Mitt Romney?

Ouch is right. Romney is getting the attention now. UGH! Well as long as Santorum continues to lead and wins Michigan we are safe and our country will prosper. If Santorum does not win Michigan we could be in deep trouble. Santorum is our only hope! I think he will pull this out. American needs you Rick! Work hard the next three days!!!

In Iowa Santorum sat back and watched with silent satisfaction as Newt was carpetbombed by the Superpac from Hell. Wonder how he likes it now, being in Newt's shoes.

Gallup rolling poll lags but it shows the trend. It’s only going to get worse for Santorum.

The Reverend Rick’s extremely bad performance in the last debate is now starting to show, as well as the steady media attention on the record and history of a candidate who has had little to none over the last 10 months.

Really, that’s good. Considering the average debate, most of the MSM and the Republican establishment working against him, Santorum is showing quite a bit of resilience. The WSJ had two hit piece editorials on him yesterday, and Fox carries quite a bit of water for Romney. Santorum was never a star debater. He holds his own, but I expected a major bump down for him after the debate. So far Romney hasn’t knocked him out, though. What’s critical for Romney is getting the “inevitable” mantel again. The media and the Republican establishment will be doing their best to create that meme again.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Nothing like having your enemy do your dirty work for you before the general election. Much can be said about vetting the candidates, but this has been particularly brutal...and a boon to Obama.

It’s starting to look like Santorum is starting to tank, Soon, he will be going in the right direction all across the country, down.

I participated in a teleconference with Newt this morning... it was very enjoyable. Newt will make a great president for our times.

A bad poll for conservatives, to be sure, and I know it makes you sad that conservatives overall have lost 2 points while Romney gained 3.

But there is one bit of good news in the poll for conservatives:

      TRIALHEAT CHANGE
Obama 49% -2
Santorum 48%
One of our conservatives at least is now polling even with Obama again. So there's still a chance conservatives can win in November. Maybe that is why you seem so happy about this poll -- it can't be that you are excited to see Gingrich stuck in 3rd place while Romney rises back toward first.

We are heading for a lost. The media keeps up the trickery;embedding in people’s minds that Newt cannot win etc. though, knowing he could beat Obama and take on his radical agenda. Build up Rick/ move us away from the strongest person. Once, Rick is out of the way, full steam ahead. If Newt is not the candidate, one can assume, the worse. People are being played about Newt. Newt has the experience. He tells the truth about Obama. The others try to stand up/but they are not at Obama’s level to even show the difference of theology. Even Romney boards are saying they need to watch for a comeback from Newt. Rush has picked the wrong guy though he is helping Romney-I know people don’t see that. The media is winning and playing this like a fine instrument. We have split the vote to stop Mitt, never uniting after Perry dropped out. The soc cons cannot win by themselves. I pray Newt makes it/if not, we are screwed to have a fight with the radicals/I am sick of playing safe with a weak person or a weaker person. It is so dumb that Americans are this uninformed and just seem to want go along without fighting like hell..sorry..I just want to battle with the radicals/tired of them. I can see Newt turning around things. I hope convention gives us Newt or another fighter-but we know who that is..only 2 people I can think of who are reformers (Sarah and Newt, the real kind) Is there anyone else? Paul, demint, Christie, Jeb, Get real. Newt and Palin, get this done.. This time, she would have the other running mate defending her vs. McCain keeping Palin in her place/saying what she could or could not say. The media put her in hell-she may not want to relive it due to her love of family.

Santorum was never a threat to Romney in the first place.

Only Newt can people fired up enough to win this nomination.
