The wife of presidential candidate Rick Santorum said Thursday that his rise in the polls is due to God working in mysterious ways.
"I personally think this is God's will. I think He has us on a path, and I do think there's a lot more happening than what we're seeing," Karen Santorum told Glenn Beck as she and her husband sat for an interview on his Web-based show, GBTV. "Personally I mean I think Rick's a great guy, and he's really smart and everything. But I think a lot more is happening than what we can actually see."

“Personally I mean I think Rick’s a great guy, and he’s really smart and everything...”
You could open a deli with a few more posts like that.
OK...we get it. You don't like Rick. I'm guessing however, that if your candidate gets the nomination, you'll be fully expecting all of Rick's current supporters become "team players."
Speaking for myself, yes, I'm completely for Rick at this point. If Rick drops out and/or Newt gets the nomination, I'll abandon my first choice and become a "team player," too.
For all the criticism Rick gets for "speaking in the abstract," and not having any solid plans, some people sure like to whine when he speaks to the harsh reality of how things work.
Including the Holocaust and the Japanese Tsunami?
Yes, that’s what I believe.
Damn straight. He's like the eventual winners on "Survivor", that just kind of hang around until the end, while the strongest players beat up each other.
The only thing he's got going for him is that he's not Mitt Romney.
That's not enough for me.
To “evoke” the will of God is to cite it; meaning you know what God's will is. That is frighteningly presumptuous when speaking of any candidate in any political race!!!
Perhaps you meant to “invoke” the will of God; meaning to ask for God's blessing. That's fine and I have no problem w/that.
It does appear from Karen Santorum’s quoted comments that she believes she is “evoking” the will of God. If that was her intent; that is scarey.
Please tell us, what has ever happened that was not God’s will....then tell us how you can tell the difference.
Thing is, it makes Santorum sound like he's running on a mandate from God. That's not going to play well to the part of the electorate out there that's struggling to make ends meet in this dodgy economy. Is it God's will also that they take it up the pipe, economically speaking? Why is God smiling on Santorum and dumping on them?
Makes them sound a bit kooky.
Love God with all your heart, etc., but be smart about it, too.
I don’t believe anything has ever happened that wasn’t His will, do you?
Please tell us if you’ve ever read Voltaire.
Very true. As Governor Perry said when he dropped out of the race before the SC primary, sometimes God's purpose is not to have you win, but to have you grow.
And I think you are reading too much into her comments.
And I think you are reading too much into her comments.
Perhaps; I truly cannot know what is in the mind of Karen Santorum or of God; so any attempt at such is purely speculative. I tend to err on the side of caution; a function of having learned from some of my poorer decisions in life when I was younger and more impulsive. (smile)
At any rate, I won't hold Karen's statement against Rick and will still vote for him if he gets the nomination.
Just finished watching the interview on GBTV. Worth finding if it is out there.
