The track for this video is not the original. If you go back to the original, what makes the recording so eerie is what happens at the beginning. The horns lay down an E minor chord, and the organ comes in on top with an E Major chord. That grinding dissonance between G and G# is what creates the sense of foreboding.

I have to weigh in with the Beach Boys ‘ Little Deuce Coupe’, too. When I was in grade school I learned the words from a story in a magazine (LIFE or LOOK, likely). I can still sing all the words but had no idea what they meant. I mean, what IS a ‘flat head mill’ to a young girl?? Still love to sing along!

I LOVE the 57 Chevy. My son bought one cheap...same color but a hardtop and was going to fix it up, but never got finished.

I loved having it sit in the front of the house, but hubby finally had to sell it. It was such a cool year for cars!

Holy Carp! when it landed it bottomed out on the road and showered sparks all down the road LoL
