Rick Santorums front-runner status in the GOP presidential race is predicated on the idea that he is the consistent conservative alternative in the field.
And that image had some serious holes poked in it at Wednesdays debate in Arizona.
Mitt Romney and Ron Paul tag-teamed the former Pennsylvania senator much of the night, calling into question his conservatism on issues ranging from earmarks and fiscal policy to his endorsements and even what is often considered Santorums most solidly conservative credential social issues.

LOL! Did you actually watch the debate? That is exactly WHAT Santorum did tonight. He Melted down like a warm Dairy Queen, and he blew his temper not only once, but twice and was BOOOOoooooed profusely.!
Did not surprise me that Paul & Romney ganged up on Santorum. But it was strange that Gingrich did not come to Santorum’s defense. He actually was laughing through it all...and his one word answer matched his mood.
I don’t think Paul is running for Veep. He is running for Fed Chairman’s job.
Is “melted down” code for dismantled Ron and Romney? Because after watching the debate, that is the only connotation in which anything would make sense.....
Besides, I not only saw it, I tapped it.
Nobody faults you for viewing the world through Santorum colored glasses. Sooner or later though, you will see reality for what it is. And you are not even close.
Their tag-teaming of Rick may impress the Washington P@ss but it won’t conservatives.
If I were a Romney supporter, as was most of the crowd, I would have booed him as well.
No he demonstrated loyalty to a man who had helped him get elected. Any politician who turns on those who help them are soon defeated and perceived as disloyal ingrates.
.
You taped it
Laz tapped it

Are you sure you’re not liberal or shilling for Romney? You sure love the establishment line.
If I had said glasses, I would be arguing that he won the debate...I am not. Newt clearly and handily won tonight. Santorum’s attacks and criticisms of Romney were successful...Romney’s attacks were batted away and parried.
Santorum won the earmark exchange
Santorum defended his endorsement of Arlen Specter
Santorum completely mutilated Romney on Romneycare being further to the left than is Obamacare.
You are the one blinded by emotional nonsense and seeing “facts” through skewed perspectives.
The press is running with this and Santo is in serious trouble. If not, then the Press is losing it's grip. Time will tell.
NYuk! NyuK!
Santorum is BY FAR the best candidate still in the race. And light years ahead of the others in terms of conservative beliefs.
Now the biggest goal of the treason media is to destroy him before he can destroy its darling, Urkel. And here you are cheering it on. I’ll bet you even call yourself a “conservative”.
Newt Gingrich was a mentor to Rick Santorum when Rick was first elected to the House of Reps.
Later, as Senator Santorum, he allied himself with Sen. Trent Lott (Republican, Mississippi), and was part of the coup that tried to force Newt Gingrich out of Congress. Speaker Gingrich eventually resigned.
Newt Gingrich had a religious epiphany a few years back. I suspect he holds no feelings of vengeance, but cannot but help find the situation in the debate amusing.
Paybacks are a bitch!
Far more than you will ever know junior!
Who is stupid enough to think Specter has any bearing on the race?
And who the hell cares anything about the opinions of the Pressitutes except other LIARS?
You’re out of line. The same thing has been said about Santorum and his supporters. It’s all nonsense.
Obama is evil. I believe Newt Gingrich would make the best President out of the four candidates left IMHO, but any of them would be better than Obama.
I suggest you stick to issues and facts.
