This is one instance when one should not apply the old adage, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

Incidentally, I don’t mean to make light of this man’s plight. From the article it seems as if he may have been a diabetic who had already had a limb amputated and was in the process of losing a second limb.

no snarkiness.....I just knew there are very few people who would so honestly say, "i know how he feels..." in such a hitting-rock-bottom way. God bless you. Thanks, ZinGirl. I have to be honest, because my secrets are what kept me sick for so long. Thanks again, and love out to you.

I didn't backtrack to the post to which you are responding until after I posted, then I saw the joke.
I've known a lot of officers who wore their expert marksman ribbons (including me).
Most officers I've been around don't wear one. I've always be taught that officers are expected to be expert shots, therefore wearing the medal is redundant. I always shot expert, with both the 9mm and whatever M-16 variant I shot, and have never worn mine.

What happens is they flinch and make a skid mark line in the hair. Depending on how cracked the skull is, they sometimes wake up and you find a hole in the skid line. When they lay around for days they die of exposure or lack of water. Quite often they do it in the bathroom. It is easy to clean and they are thoughtful. They just don't care about how others feel. More than anyone needs to know.

Most officers I've been around don't wear one. Probably because the majority of officers don't earn one. If everyone's an expert, the standards are too low.

I have watched O Brother many times who did he play, was it the prison guard who came after the boys?

Apparantly he never got a marksmanship ribbon. He may have gotten one.......it's just that he learned to shoot in the Army. Which, looking at that picture, he has a Purple Heart, but does not have a Combat Action Ribon....

Maybe hes just a really bad shot. More likely didn't use enough gun. A small .22, .25 or .32 might just bounce off the skull given even a slightly glancing impact.Even a .380 might. There are plenty of cases of these smaller bullet failing to penetrate the skull. Sometimes they circle around the head just under the skin.

He also played the satanic figure in the dark glasses with the blood hound hunting down the "Soggy Bottom Boys" in O' Brother Where Art Thou (the only one of George Clooney's films I can watch without retching and actually really enjoy).

No, what makes one a loser is whining about having to go to the hospital to have some toes removed, shooting oneself in the head and winding up in the hospital anyway, with more than just problems with your toes.
