Thousands of Afghani citizens rioted outside a NATO base near Kabul on Tuesday over reports that foreign soldiers had attempted to burn copies of the Koran. Rioters threw stones, burned tires, and fired in the air. Troops fired rubber bullets, injuring one.
United States General John Allen announced an inquiry into the alleged Koran burning incident, and said any attempt to burn the Koran was accidental.
Copies of the Koran were reportedly nearly burnt when sent to a garbage dump along with refuse...

So, Ahmed. Desecrate any Jewish or Christian shrines lately? Attend any good riots? Look at what I just bought. Koran toilet paper.

Copies of the Koran were ... sent to a garbage dump along with refuse... With profuse apologies to decent refuse everywhere!

It must be nice to have nothing to do all day but burn, loot and cause immense trouble to other people. Easier, I guess, than earning a living.

There wsas a time when responsible leadership knew exactly how this kind of an official apology would result.

It was the Afghan civilian employees that did it. Those Korans had extremist Islamic writings added to them so they were pitched to be burned.

Perhaps they’d finally shut up if we turned Mecca into a smoldering radioactive crater.
Seems to the only things these fanatics understand is overwhelming destructive force.

Watching the news, seeing the rioting crowds outside Bagram. . . .
We’re leaving anyway, why not employ that old faithful riot-control device. . . .the MA-Deuce. . . .
Ends riots quickly. . .

Once a Roman soldier farted loudly in a crowd of worshipers at The Temple of Solomon.
The Romans had to slaughter hundreds and crucify dozens more before the natives finally calmed down.
Those Romans—they sure knew how to keep the peace in the Middle East.

Gunners, pack your canister with copies of the koran.
Let those who welcome death receive it. Amen.

Cowardice is appeasing the animal who is trying to kill you in the hopes he will kill someone else first.
So who stirred up the Afghani muzzies?
From the WSJ:
"Most Afghans learned about the Quran burning in Florida only when Mr. Karzai on March 24 (4 days after!) condemned the act as "a crime against the religion and the entire Muslim nation," called on the U.S. and the U.N. to bring the perpetrators to justice and demanded "a satisfactory response to the resentment and anger of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world."
General Petraeus has certainly won Karzai's heart and mind. /s
You would think that having our female troops wear muslim hijabs instead of K-pots would have been enough to placate them.

You gotta riot to get your apologies. If all you do is post on freep, they can ignore you and later call you names. If you attend TEA parties, they can call you names and later call you names. Rioting pays, though. Next time you get outraged at something, go break a window and do the Angry Chimp with other outraged people. Or better yet, blow something up. Squeaky wheels get the grease.

I once deleted a copy of the Koran off my computer's hard drive.

Was I disrespectful?
