Shockingly, neither Carter nor the present occupant of the White House are choices...

I think Dick Nixon might have actually done us more good, considering that the Real Enemy is the Enemedia and the Left. Interesting perspective.

Washington should be top ... period.
Basically without him there would be no USA and/or we would have a king instead of the govt we have today (though that aint saying much these days).
Exactly! Washington is our greatest president.

Barry Goldwater. He didn’t win, but I wasn’t old enough to vote then either.

Eisenhower did a better job than most give him credit for. Operation Wetback was another plus for President Eisenhower. I was only 11 at the time it began but I remember how effective it was. The hero of D-Day was a true American patriot who recognized the dangers of illegal immigration.

Barry Goldwater. He didnt win, but I wasnt old enough to vote then either. Barry Goldwater will always be special to me for personal reasons. As a naive college student in the early 60's, I made the foolish decision to join the NAACP. My flirtation with that Communist-backed outfit was thankfully short-lived (although I did learn a lot about its vile anti-American agenda from the inside).
After that regretful lapse into liberalism, I returned to my Conservative roots and transferred to a solidly Christian college. I campaigned for and supported AuH2O with zeal, realizing that he would restore America to greatness and would slash government. We'd be living in a far, far better country today had Barry Goldwater won in 1964.

Ike is underrated for sure, considering the times he had to guide the country through. The commies becoming ever more bold, keeping up with their emerging military forces, nuke and conventional.
Considering he did not have the intel available today, he did a damn fine job making sure the US was secure enough for the stable 50's and prosperity we still enjoy the aftereffects of. He had a load of issues to deal with, Iran, VN, Egypt, etc. Being the Supreme Commander prepared him for the avalanche that followed WWII.

Decided to tip my hat to George Washington, without whom we would probably not have had a country in the first place.
