Rick Santorums spokeswoman Alice Stewart said in a TV interview on Monday that Santorum was referring to President Barack Obamas radical Islamic policies when he said the presidents agenda was driven by phony theology but then quickly called up MSNBC after the segment aired to say she misspoke.
There is a type of theological secularism when in comes to the global warmists in this country. Thats what he was referring to. He was referring to the presidents policies in terms of the radical Islamic policies the president has, Stewart said on Andrea Mitchell Reports.
Mitchell later said on the air that Stewart phoned the show after the interview to say she had slipped up and said radical Islamic policies instead of Obamas radical environmental policies.
Mitchell noted she had missed Stewarts phrasing of radical Islamic policies during the live interview.
She had repeatedly said during that same interview radical environmental policies and she said she slipped when she apparently said [it], Mitchell said. I did not hear it, or I would have caught her on it and tried to get a correction at the moment. I really, frankly, did not hear her use the word Islamic, but the tape tells the tale.
Santorum said in Ohio on Saturday that Obamas agenda is not about you. Its not about your quality of life. Its not about your jobs. Its about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology.
Santorum stood by his remarks later, telling reporters he wasnt suggesting Obama is less of a Christian.

Perfect, Alice...
Let the libs stew.
Since when is speaking the truth a “gaffe”?
LOL! That should get lib heads rolling.
Only to TROP and their useful infidels..
I don’t consider the truth a gaffe.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at how little attention Romney’s bizarre Michigan Trees speech got in the media. Its a regular old Howard Dean moment that the media ignored.

Gaffe?
I do not like politicians who apologize for telling the truth. Gingrich tells it like it is. I think Santorum and his aides and trying to be a bit too careful.
Well, I think the definition of a “gaffe” is when a politician accidentally tells the truth.
Those who call this a gaffe have it exactly right, by that definition.
He has had radical policies regarding Islam and Islamic countries. She didn’t say he was a muslim.
You are right I had missed it until your link.
Yeah, you are right! LOL
I agree.
Here’s why I can’t be a politician...
I would say “Oh, I’m not saying 0bama is LESS of a Christian, I’m saying he’s an ANTI Christian.”
Remember when Drudge Report blared headlines against Newt, trying to make small stories appear bigger than they were? He is now doing the same thing to Santorum. Go check out Drudge Report today. Drudge is a campaign arm of Romney and all who are afraid that Rick or Newt will lose 35 states to Obama.
Radical environmental policies, radical Islamic policies. Both statements are right on the money as far as I am concerned. This is NOT a gaffe. This is a true statement. I like Santorum even more now. I just hope they don't start apologizing.
I also wonder why any of these people even bother talking to Andrea Mitchel. She is an Obama stooge who twists everything around to make Obama look good and Obama’s opponents look bad.
She was just confirming what Obama told Stephy.
