Rick Santorums spokeswoman Alice Stewart said in a TV interview on Monday that Santorum was referring to President Barack Obamas radical Islamic policies when he said the presidents agenda was driven by phony theology but then quickly called up MSNBC after the segment aired to say she misspoke.
There is a type of theological secularism when in comes to the global warmists in this country. Thats what he was referring to. He was referring to the presidents policies in terms of the radical Islamic policies the president has, Stewart said on Andrea Mitchell Reports.
Mitchell later said on the air that Stewart phoned the show after the interview to say she had slipped up and said radical Islamic policies instead of Obamas radical environmental policies.
Mitchell noted she had missed Stewarts phrasing of radical Islamic policies during the live interview.
She had repeatedly said during that same interview radical environmental policies and she said she slipped when she apparently said [it], Mitchell said. I did not hear it, or I would have caught her on it and tried to get a correction at the moment. I really, frankly, did not hear her use the word Islamic, but the tape tells the tale.
Santorum said in Ohio on Saturday that Obamas agenda is not about you. Its not about your quality of life. Its not about your jobs. Its about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology.
Santorum stood by his remarks later, telling reporters he wasnt suggesting Obama is less of a Christian.

He’s right.
I doesn’t matter how awesome anyone here thinks it is, if this guy wants to go into this territory he had better have a good follow-up strategy to keep control of the story for when the MSM, and their 24/7 SHTF megaphone goes full steam.
According to this article, he didnt have one other than to back off.
Now that’s a TOUGH audience!!!
what troubles me how many still have blinkers on to the MSM, to their candidate, to the GOP etc
We are in some serious crap right now,we have out of control judges, elected officials on both sides and a President and wife .
This should have been an easier election than it is but we had an establishment bent on taking Newt out, millions spent, time wasted while obama gets a pass, debates ran by the left MSM, FOX working with the establishment and now poor choice of candidates.
Then on here we have certain posters as always spending their time ripping down other candidates on putting on misleading headlines to help their guy.
That wasn’t a ‘slip’ - it was the truth. Why be afraid of that?
Please post a Warning with your photos! I almost turned over my chair, spewed diet Pepsi from my nose, and laughed so hard I ache! If laughter adds to longevity, you just added 5 years to mine!
Thank You!!!
Well, I’m somewhat heartened that a bunch of Obama supporters are ignoring and disrespecting him, myself. I’d have been more concerned if they were supportive.
The Punk himself referred to “my Muslim faith” in an interview with the Steph germ on ABC, I believe. Bob
Guys, there’s something that bothers me about our cause. It’s that we continually treat our candidates as if they were adversaries.
Obama could take a dump on a church podium and his faithful would back his play, explaining it was an act of respect.
Our guy actually tells the truth, and Conservatives do their best rendition of what cockroaches do when the lights go on.
If the guy is doing something wrong, then by all means address it for being wrong. Quit lining up to damn him for taking a chance that will cost him the election, for doing nothing more or less than telling the truth.
VanDeKoik, I do agree that backing down is a bad idea. I would advise folks to fire off emails to the campaign team to advise them to only back down when something is clearly not true.
Adding to the rumble of anti-Santorum rhetoric around here, isn’t the best way to support a guy you would vote for.
nail on head
Santorum, Firing Up His Base.
I would agree with you 100%, if only Santorum hadn’t gleefully joined in the piling on and destruction of Newt. Once he did that, any sympathy I may have had for him has flown right out the window.
You can take the position that it would have been better for Obama to bring those things to light in October, but I’m not going to join you.
It is difficult to honor a religion that honors Honor Killing.
I wonder if Gaffe-Biden knows that he now has competition.
