In the gun business, fear drives sales, and recently, sales have increased. About 300 people have already applied for a Georgia Weapon Carry license in 2012, according to Richmond County Probate Court records. Last year, approximately 1,600 permits were submitted. At the current rate, applications could nearly double 2011s numbers by the end of this year. Kayna Widener was driven to purchase a gun after she saw a man attack a woman outside the Augusta Mall several months ago. She was the only witness to the attack. In this case, the man fled after the victim put up a struggle. But Widener knows everyone isnt as lucky. On Friday, she practiced shooting a Bad Guy paper target with her Glock 26 at Shooters gun range. Her boyfriend, Sean Morgan, stood nearby. It definitely makes me feel better, Morgan said of Wideners ability to defend herself. Steven Fryant, Shooters store manager, said business has increased by 15 percent or more in the past two months. |

That data the Feds have from the 4473s is going to be useless for them.
My husband did his part and got a new handgun last weekend. Plus he’s going to get my elderly dad’s M1 carbine tonight.
My husband bought his handgun last weekend at Bass Pro and he said it was VERY busy in there when he went back to purchase it.
For Denver area female FReepers or men with a significant other, Firing Line in Aurora has a Free Ladies Day/Night at their range:

Skydancer , you just described what I did today. Sixty bucks worth of Wally world groceries and 200 bucks worth of rounds for the all three of my pistols.
Your post is invisible :)
“That data the Feds have from the 4473s is going to be useless for them.”
Sure hope you’re right. What if the BATFE goons show up at your doorstep with a stack of 4473’s with your signature and demand, “OK, citizen, where are all these guns you bought?”
“WHERE ARE THEY, B!TCH!!!?”
“Uh, I sold them all. Here, here’s the receipts.”
(Sounds of beatings and screams)
Please tell me I’m exaggerating or am overwrought about the abrogation of the rule of law.
My favorite is my Marlin .22mag with a nine power scope. I also have a 22-250 Savage with a scope about the length of the barrel. Both neat shooters. I pick up a box of each whenever I go shopping at home.
When I sell a gun I am depressed for weeks, and the only cure is to buy two.
For all you people out there that think that a firearm is like a Barbie doll, it’s naked without
a lot of accessories.........

I did my part: Brought a Ruger SP101 .357 snubbie.
That’s a good one to have.
Oh... it’s coming, FRiend. It’s coming VERY soon, I am certain.
We won’t have an election in November. Watch what happens this summer with the “Occupy Movement.” It’s all being telegraphed. Obama doesn’t need to worry about losing in November if he declares martial law and suspends elections.
The only hope for a non-violent resolution would be for Governors to step up and declare State sovereignty. Call up militiamen and women. Once the South “rises again” and long lines of militia are shown on national TV ready to go to battle against the Liberals, there will be a sudden collapse of support for the Federal government and a power vacuum this country has never seen.
Suspension of disbelief is all that’s necessary for fiction to become reality.
I don't know why they had to repeat themselves.
POST OF THE DAY!!
Come November 6, I fear we are going to witness the crime of the century.
Is there a way we can organize a Freep-A-Thon purchase of handguns ?
How great would it be, if we all went and bought a firearm, en-masse, with the sellers knowing that it was FR that did it ?
Maybe make a specific date for purchases, and when the news reports “over 10,000 firearms were purchased this saturday..”, and we see the media have a melt-down, It’ll be worth it.
