COLUMBUS, Ohio White House candidate Rick Santorum on Saturday questioned President Barack Obamas Christian values and attacked GOP rival Mitt Romneys Olympics leadership as he courted tea party activists and evangelical voters in Ohio, ground zero in the 2012 nomination fight.
Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator known for his social conservative policies, said that Obamas agenda is not about you. Its not about your quality of life. Its not about your jobs. Its about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology.
Obama campaign deputy press secretary Ben Labolt said Santorums comment was the latest low in a Republican primary campaign that has been fueled by distortions, ugliness, and searing pessimism and negativity.
Even as he criticized Obama, Santorum also went after one of Romneys most promoted achievements his leadership at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
One of Mitt Romneys greatest accomplishments, one of the things he talks about most is how he heroically showed up on the scene and bailed out and resolved the problems of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games, Santorum said. He heroically bailed out the Salt Lake City Olympic Games by heroically going to Congress and asking them for tens of millions of dollars to bail out the Salt Lake games in an earmark, in an earmark for the Salt Lake Olympic games.

>>>first of all, the Catholic church is the ONLY true, complete Christian church on earth<<<
If one ignores the blatant corruption of the Catholic church “priesthood” and the coverup of their sins by the hierarchy, and if one ignores the legacy of indulgences, political appeasement and the Inquisition, then one might be fooled into believing the Catholic church is “Christian”.
PIYOSB
There’s certainly nothing Christian about abortion and forcing the Catholic Church to do something contrary to its teachings.
>>I find it hard to believe that after Christ was resurrected that God allowed the the Church to thrive for thousands of years, and then say, Oh wait, you guys have been doing it wrong. Here is Martin Luther.<<
Don’t forget John Calvin (and Galileo).
Jesus instructed us to “call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven” [Matthew 23:9]. Therefore, is not anyone who calls the Pope “Father” denying Christ?
And why do we need a mediator between God and Christ, when Jesus is the mediator [1 Timothy 2:5]?
Frankly, I do not see the imposition by force of Catholicism on the masses over the centuries as justification for their claim to be the arbiters of Christianity. Rather, I see it more as a “falling away” from the principles of Christ and of St. Paul.
Obama is not a Christian.
Romney is not a Christian.
People have biological fathers; do you object to them being called “father” by their own children???
Many thanks for making my point.
>>>People have biological fathers; do you object to them being called father by their own children???<<<
If that is the best defense you have of catholicism, I suggest you surrender. It is all about context. Obviously a priest or pope is not our biological father, and he is certainly not our spiritual father. We have only one spiritual Father (Jesus) and one biological father (our Dad).

Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
It wasn’t a defense of Catholicism.
It was a direct question.
So, what answer do you have and why in view of the quote that you provided?
They both stink, actually. Weak choices all the way around since Perry dropped.
Catholicism ignores nothing. Have there been bad apples in the barrel?, you bet, but remember that the entire world, Catholics included, are sinners. The inquisition was really more of a political than religious matter. Remember, for the first time in history, someone threatened the belief system that was Christianity. The Catholic church was the only protector of Christianity at the time and took her role quite seriously. Were mistakes made???of course there were, but this was the first real threat facing christianity. You have little, if any, understanding of the protective role played by the Catholic church throughout the centuries. You quoted smoe biblical passages....thank the Catholic church that you have them. For 1500 years, the Catholics protected, compiled, hand copied, and saved the bible from any who would try to keep it from humanity. When the printing press came along in the 1500's, average people could, at last, afford a copy of the bible and fortunately, the Catholics had bibles which could be converted to the printed page. In the 1200's, 1300's etc, there were no protestants to save anything, but luckily for you, the Catholics made it possible for you, and in fact, the whole world to enjoy the word of God as compiled, edited, inscribed, hand written etc etc etc by them. say thanks!!!
Obama = President Screwtape
Rick brings it home to the Infidel.
Rick brings it home to the Infidel.
I believe that verse, but when you take a single verse from the bible and try to make your case with it....it doesn't work. If you want to gather in His name....follow all His commands and follow the church that He founded. For example, thou (Simon bar Jona) art Petros (rock) and upon this rock I will build my church.....if you really want to gather in His name, attend Mass every week and actually recieve the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus in the Eucharist....(He said it is there and I believe it) !!!!!

And as for those bullying Republicans... off with their heads!
Hope and Change... Tragic.
BTTT!
Let’s not make this campaign about theoligical differences among JUDEO CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS!
I enjoy theological debates and I especially enjoy discussing TRUTH not just defending my personal opinions. While there are doctrines with which I disagree with every religion and denomination on I can worship the Lord Jesus Christ with anyone who accepts Him as Lord and Savior and accepts the basic foundation of the Apostle’s Creed.
Having said that there are many I can work with politically with whom I disagree theologically.
