A retired female fighter pilot running for former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' open seat in Congress said Friday that Rick Santorum's recent remarks on women in combat make her want to "go kick him in the jimmy."
Martha McSally, a retired US Air Force colonel and a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, is running in Arizona's congressional special election as a Republican. According to her Facebook page, she was the first American woman to fly in combat since the 1991 lifting of a ban on women in that role.
Appearing Friday morning on FOX News Channel's "FOX & Friends," she called the Republican presidential candidate "completely out of touch" for saying that the "emotions" felt by men seeing a female soldier in harm's way may jeopardize their mission.

I understand that proud woman anyway.
Santorum’s remark was not very clever !
Some women have more guts than many men.
As a catholic i think that some “catholics” also need a brain instead of whining
Agreed. Women can absolutely serve in appropriate roles. But God made us different on purpose. Get over it.
And women seem to be great at dropping bombs...of all kinds :)
Flashback: Female P.O.W. Is Abused, Kindling Debate (June 29, 1992)
No, they don't. They stopped doing it in 1950 after they found out that their Arab enemies wounded and tortured their women soldiers to draw out the men soldiers who felt the overwhelming urge to run out into an open-fire zone to rescue the women. Look it up!
I watched it...
I looked up kick him in the jimmy(jimmies) in the always perverted urban dictionary....
it refered to something a Dyke Gym teacher would say.
that being said...she seems conservative on most issues.
we will see.
And if Santorum fired back that he would like to kick her, I mean everyone is equal in her eyes, then there would be outrage over an attack against a woman.
Maybe ‘she’ got some jimmies?
Speaking as someone who voted for Santorum and who doesn't like what the pilot said: unless there's documentation that she was coddled or that she received her promotions due to affirmative action, I think we on Free Republic need to respect the service of our veterans.
I'm not saying that documentation doesn't exist, only that we need to give veterans the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise.
That includes women veterans and veterans who say things we don't like.
Women in the FREE and CHRISTIAN world are FREE and men don’t use them as tools and shelters.
We are not muslims
That’s a big gun.

Something missing from this article: What did Rick Santorum say that so incensed this woman?
Free to serve?
What’s a jimmy? Is it a derivative of jimmy-crack-corn, or is it like a crowbar? How about a chimney? By jiminy I do not know.
Advance press of former POW Jessica Lynchs biography includes the
shocking revelation the 19-year-old Army supply clerk was raped and
sodomized by her Iraqi captors.
What? Really?
He was in Congress from 1991 to 2007. We know his voting record. We know his personal life (1 marriage, 7 children, drives an Audi)
Rick has been very forthright in explaining his opinions. He does not shy away from interviews with right wing hosts (unlike Romney).
He has open public town hall and campaign events (unlike $1000 a seat and $2500 picture Romney).
Can go on and on. He's been vetted repeatedly over several congressional elections and a few presidential runs.
By "vetted" you must mean "has not been smeared and run out of town by so called fellow conservatives"
Sorry. That question was meant for the poster Red Flanker.
Totally disagree with a woman being anywhere near combat.
Santorum needs to keeping the truth about all this PC liberal garbage that is destroying this country.
Free with a responsibility of compulsory service to the country?
Something about women in combat which many around here envision as tanks rolling over the top of them as they lie in their trench with Sopwiths buzzing overhead.
