Time may already have run out for Americans to defeat President Barack Obama in his war against the coal industry. Many utility companies already have run up the white flag.
Before millions of people even knew about the war on coal, decisions were made that will send their utility bills skyrocketing. Some of those choices are irreversible.
A few weeks ago it was revealed at least 32 coal-fired power plants in 12 states, including West Virginia and Ohio, would be closed so utility companies could comply with the Obama administration's air pollution regulations. On the list was the Kammer Plant near Moundsville.
Last week FirstEnergy announced it would close three West Virginia power plants later this year, along with six in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland, for the same reason.

Well, lets hope the idiots in the GOP use this to advantage in W.Va., Kentucky, PA and other states with a coal mining industry.
But they won’t. That is why they are Republican “leaders” and why Republican “leaders” are such idiots.
This race was theirs to LOOSE. Obama was on the ROPES. But in TWO short months, the morons running in the primary played into the Mainstream Media’s hands which were conducting the “debates” and ripped each other apart.
In the eyes of the general public, this didn’t make them stronger - it made them all look incompetent.
As an aside the GOP, the ALLEGED conservative party, IS incompetent in implementing a conservative agenda.
The Demcorats are FAR MORE competent in implementing THEIRS.
Whcih makes me sick to my stomach.
If the GOP blows this one, its THIRD PARTY TIME.
...”The problem is the kind of voters we have. They cant tell you one small fraction about the candidate they vote for, that they did not get from the MSM or overhear at their morning coffee break. And they certainly could not tell you how government works, or even who is currently running it”...
You are exactly correct. The way to hell is paved with people like this, especially if they are on the government dole. And, I will say over and over that I believe we have a drug epidemic in this country, as well, that people are only now beginning to awaken to which plays a role in our political downfall. Bill O’Reilly gets it and is hitting the problem hard this week as a result of Whitney Houston’s death. AND, DOCTORS AND PHARMACISTS ARE NOT TO BLAME!!!!!!
I’m afraid you’re right.
Obama’s legacy...Americans sweltering or freezing in their darkened homes and businesses and standing in line for $4+/gallon gasoline
this came to my notice when someone here in Annapolis questioned to the local newspaper why there was such very heavy shipping increase in the Chesapeake Bay, with many many more large ships idiing in the Bay waiting clearance for Baltimore
Importing and shipping our coal to their ports is cheaper for China than building the infrastructure they need to transport their own coal from their inland to meet the increasing demand at their heavily populated coastal cities and factories
Note that there is controversy about a port in Washington State being specifically constructed for the purpose of shipping coal to China. Served by rail of course (hasn't Warren Buffet heavily invested in rail?)
So maybe all this obammy talk about “infrastructure spending” is codespeak for a plan to turn our own workers into coolies mining and shipping American resources to China ... burning the coal that American energy plants (which are much more environmentally sound) are forbidden to burn
and the UMW and Teamsters and Transport Workers and Longshoremen - all copacetic with jobs gained from selling off America, piece by piece
The implications suck - eh

some background information
Can’t be true. Governor Brian Swindler (Democrat, Montana) only had one campaign promise during his two successful campaigns for governor. He was going to turn Montana coal into oil and drop the price of gas. It’s working well.
Very informative. Thanks!
