There are so many genuine environmental problems to worry about. It’s been frustrating to go to scientific conferences and see problems like the die-offs of amphibians, bees, and bats being brushed off as “caused by global warming” by scientists who should know better. Instead of passing everything off as a result of global warming, how about studying the actual problems?
It’s not just that everything is brushed off as a consequence of global warming, but that research funding is directed towards global warming “studies” (which usually take the form of explaining the effects of global warming, instead of ascertaining whether the hypothesis is even correct). We don’t need more money shunted off to theorizing in the absence of empirical data; we need money directed towards finding out why bats in the northeast are dying by the millions from fungal infections.
Well, here’s hoping the global warming skeptics keep raising questions. It’s time to put this red herring behind us and start to focus on the real environmental problems.
I guess part of the problem is that finding out what is killing off frogs, and taking steps to reverse the problem, doesn’t involve forcing everyone to live a more primitive lifestyle.
Oh yeah... And California, lol.

I think body blow is an understatement. When Bild and Der Spiegel both give this overwhelming coverage, we have a GAME CHANGER here. Basically, it’s over - the entire basis of the climate change movement.
I suspect that the powers in Germany did some math and figured out that bailing out Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and who knows who else is simply too darn expensive, while letting their economies collapse due to their self-imposed end of electricity and other fuel. In other words, without action, they see serious stuff happening in Europe, such as wars and starvation.
...given all that, it looks at though the adults stepped in (finally), and told the little children that their fun in trying to save the world from a non-existent monster was over, and that Europe badly needs to get its act together immediately and end this nightmare.
Don’t be surprised one bit if the same thing happens regarding Islam. Europeans may look like cowed sissies now, but, like the above, they can turn 180 degrees on a dime and the Muzzie will have no clue what hit them.
