Our friend is a computer techie. One night when our family was at his house, I noticed a verse taped to his monitor: I have made a covenant with my eyes (Job 31:1). Evidently, he understood the potential danger of spending hours alone in front of a computer with easy access to indecent images.
Our friends reminder verse is a quote from Job, and it continues, Why then should I look upon a young woman? Like many of us, Job had promised himself to stay free of lust. Reflecting on that oath, he said, Does [God] not see my ways, and count all my steps? (v.4). The Bible assures us that God does (Heb. 4:13), and that we are accountable to Him. This is why believers must abstain from sexual immorality (1 Thess. 4:3). While some want to debate the boundaries of morality, the Bible says, Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matt. 5:28).
If you have made a covenant with your eyes, consider how Scripture might help you keep this pledge. Post a verse on your computer screen, television, or the dashboard of your car, and remember, God did not call us to uncleanness but to holiness (1 Thess. 4:7).
Hand over heart & prayers up! *hugs*
Working hard as co-president of the local Tea Party, and getting ready to launch a website in about a month to market my lectures on history and the Constitution.

Greetings, Ladies, from the Sunshine State!
Well, I closed on the house. All the papers were signed as of today. I have the power and the water on, and the appliances work. I may have to get the A/C blown out, because the airflow is weak.
Next week, the cable/Internet gets hooked up. Demented Sis is giving me a living room of furniture, a few tables, a TV/VCR, and a full-size bed. Groceries are all on me, of course...
I’ll keep everyone updated about the events down here. I’m loving this!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Barry was only 20 years old when he hired in at Aldon Music, run by Al Nevins and the legendary Donny Kirshner, later to be the creator of the Monkees. Aldon was headquartered in the Brill Building, home of Hal David and Burt Bacharach, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, Gerry Goffin and Carole King, Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, Neil Sedaka, and record label owners Phil Spector and Florence Greenberg. It was also the home of Cynthia Weil, who was to become Barrys lyricist and then his wife.
Barry hasnt changed much in appearance over the decades, except to gain a few wrinkles and grow a beard. At their website, Barry looks his youthful self. Cynthia has that windswept look that women get after a major facelift. But she looks great!
Barry teamed up with Mike Anthony in 1959 for his first hit at age 20. This was a doo-wop classic recorded by the Diamonds.
Note that the Diamonds are white. I didnt know that until quite recently. Who da thunk it?
