Texas Governor and former presidential candidate Rick Perry tells Newsmax that Newt Gingrich is the most capable Republican still in the race and the right conservative to go to Washington and make it as inconsequential as he can....
Ive endorsed Newt, so I hope that has some impact. Were looking for the most conservative candidate. Texans by and large are a conservative lot, he says.
But any of our candidates are going to be better than Obama. My goal is to send the most conservative person to Washington D.C., that understands how to balance the budget, and Newt Gingrich has done that.
I think Newt by any measure, from the standpoint of fiscal conservatism, being able to actually operate in that shark tank in Washington, is the most capable individual. Hes balanced a number of budgets before.
Mitts been a very successful businessman, but the idea that you can transform your experiences as a private sector businessman into working in Washington doesnt necessarily translate.
I know for a fact that Newt knows how to work there. He is committed to blowing the place up, from a figurative standpoint, and to really put policies into place tax-wise, regulatory-wise.
Perry says Gingrich is also a big believer in the Tenth Amendment, which provides that powers not granted to the federal government nor prohibited to the states by the Constitution should belong to the states or the people.
You dont see any of the other candidates out there talking about the Tenth Amendment and empowering the states and devolving power out of Washington, except Newt Gingrich.
Perry says Gingrich is also the candidate with the best chance of defeating President Obama in November.

Perry was the best conservative to beat Obama.
Amen, Governor. Santorum was no friend of the TEA Party.

God Bless Gov. Perry and God Bless Texas! Perry ran a dignified campaign..little did he know what Romney and the establishment are capable of...Perry will be BACK! I HOPE Newt wins and gives him a big appointment!
hmm I guess according to both Perry and Newt I’m ‘heartless’ and ‘inhumane’ for opposing illegals.
I agree with Perry. I called the RNC like the other lady did (who posted on another thread). The guy told me if Newt did win, he would change the government in a way that would be so extreme we could not grow the party. What!! They are doing their best to wipe out Newt because he has backbone to bust the place apart to what the wimps do not want the place to be. I cannot support the way the RNC is operating now. I plan to make a lot of phone calls tomorrow-to my state leaders as well.
Perry was by far the best conservative in the race. Too bad he didn’t hang in there. We needed an Washington outsider to shake things up, but in the end of the guys remaining Romney is the guy the furthest from Washington. What irony.
Might look into Buddy Roemer...lol !
Poor Rick. He didn’t just come across as dumb...
It's not that the guy doesn't have character, he is just dumb and his handlers lead him around and lead him astray at times. I have been watching this guy up close since before he became governor.
No one should be looking to Rick Perry for advice. He is just not a real sharp tack.
HAHAHAH!!!
Look what it got ya, too...
When formulating policies, when leading the executive branch, our nation, does anyone think Newt will take half measures so as to not anger Pelosi, Reid, the old media and psycho leftist organizations? I don't. He will enjoy their shrieking and use it to roll back the Left.
The first target: Marxist Judges. BLAM!
FOX (the five)said Gov. Perry didn’t mention Newt at his CPAC speech.
Newt opposes illegal immigration.
Thank you for posting that!!
GO NEWT GO—its about the survival of our country!!
Yup!
Hey Chris, give ‘em hell. We’re not done yet. -:)
Newts numbers amongst women are absolutely dismal. My wife and daughter both dislike him.
It will be hard to win in 2012 if Obama wins 65% of the female vote!
