VANITY- My conversation with Josh at the RNC- No wonder our Republican party is falling apart

Oh my gosh! I am so very mad I am still shaking. I called the RNC today to get the definitive answer on the Florida delegate count. I was transferred to a young man named Josh and what ensued was the most infuriating, while enlightening, conversation that I have had in a long while.

I first asked my question about the delegates. His convoluted answer was basically that they couldn't impose two punishments, so the one punishment imposed was taking away half of their delegates. I asked him about that rule, was that in writing somewhere. He then proceeded to tell me that he thought that it was funny that no one had a problem with the rule until Newt Gingrich lost and now Gingrich wants to challenge it. Mind you, I had not mentioned that I was a Gingrich supporter. He said that it basically didn't matter anyway. The race wouldn't be that close. Several other things were said about Gingrich, with a tone that made it perfectly clear that he supported Romney and despised Gingrich.

Well, I was getting pretty mad at this point. So I said that the average Conservative voter was pretty upset about the establishment trying to shove Romney down our throats as the "inevitable" candidate, just like they did McCain and Dole. He said, "Newt Gingrich is more of an establishment candidate than any of them". I talked about ruling class and the fact that all of the elite, inside-the-beltway Republicans and Democrats all hated Gingrich for a reason and that intrigued me. He then said that the Democrats would LOVE to have Gingrich as their candidate because they know that they could beat him! Wasn't this guy supposed to be neutral? I was quite mad by now. I said that the Democrats are actually dying to run against Romney, a silver-spoon, live in a bubble being groomed to run for president, multi-millionaire Wall Street guy. He then said, well Newt Gingrich is a multi-millionaire! Uh, hello?!

I asked him what he thought about the false ads that Romney and his supporters were running attacking Newt and his Reagan connections. He said that he didn't live in Florida and he didn't see the ads! I said that he sounding like Romney! Then I said, you work in the political office of the Republican party, shouldn't you know what is going on in all of the campaigns, especially if it is making news. You know that we have this little thing called the "internet" where you can go to see videos. He changed the subject.

THEN he launched into the most shocking attack on Gingrich that I could have imagined. He said "well, this guy has had three wives and investigated the president for cheating on his wife while he was cheating on his wife. Don't you think that is hypocritical?" !!!!!!

I was floored! I said, did I call the RNC or the DNC?!?! I then asked him how old he was (25) and was he really around to pay attention to the impeachment trial in the 90's? He said yes, Newt was investigating a guy for having an affair while he was having an affair and that was hypocritical. I practically screamed at him "it was not about sex, it was about lying under oath!" He then said that the speaker of the house should not have been investigating him in the first place, since he was having sex with another woman at the time. Picking myself up off the floor, I yelled that the investigation was started because of Paula Jones. He said that she was just a slut. I said that she had a legitimate harassment suit against Clinton and he was called to testify under oath and he lied! Josh said that he shouldn't have been investigated in the first place! WOW! I then asked him if he thought that perjury was a crime. He said yes but the House investigated and the Senate did not convict him. He said that the Speaker brought embarrassment on his whole party by investigating Clinton and bringing Impeachment charges. Unbelievable...

I then thanked him for showing me exactly why my Republican party is falling apart. I told him that it is because of people like him that our party has lost its footing, its vision and its mission. I said because of people like him we would end up with 4 more years of Obama and our country no longer resembling the United States of America.

I then hung up the phone and called Newt's office. I relayed everything that this "neutral" kid said to me. Needless to say, they were shocked. As was I..... I hope that I have conveyed my conversation in a way that makes sense to everyone. But I felt that I should share my experience so that we all know that the enemy is inside the gates.

I sent the note about the rules and Josh and that my wife and I are upset about fellow Republicans and a Republican presidential candidate and former Republican Speaker of the House being disrespected and we are also upset about the appearance of the RNC taking sides in the Republican primary. We have supported Republican candidates and Republicans only since 1962 we have neither one missed an election or a primary. I first voted in 64, my wife in 66. Is this what Romney is bringing to the Grand Old Party.

If you want to take their man Romney down, pass around the book by Tricia Erickson CAN MITT ROMNEY SERVE TWO MASTERS?

Downloaded the Kindle version for $3.82, (I got a free ap so that I can read it on my iPad), and I can confirm that this is an incredible page turner that reveals the truth about the Bishop Mitt Romney.

I read a lot of posts here about people who don't care the Mitt is Mormon, they are opposed for other reasons. Do not think they the political and the spiritual are not heavily entwined.

If you are even thinking about voting for Romney or just want to know more about the man behind the arrogant grin, buy this book and read it...

Could you post the phone number you called so we all can personally talk with Josh? I’m sure he would loooooove to talk with each and every one of us. His email address would be great, also!

Is there a snail mail address where he works so I can send him my literal 2 cents worth of donation? Wait a minute! I think I’m being too generous. If a penny can work for a waitress who does a bad job serving me at a restaurant works it can work for him, too!

If I call Microsoft's or Walmart's customer service, the person at the other end of the line isn't any sort of expert on corporate policy.

Maybe it should be different with political parties, but it's doubtful that it's acually the case.

Chances are Josh is a low-paid lackey who just takes messages and deals with changes of address.

Someone should call them, ask them if they would help Sarah Palin get on the ticket, record the conversation and post on YouTube.

“I then asked him how old he was (25) and was he really around to pay attention to the impeachment trial in the 90’s? He said yes...”

Hogwash. I’m 8 years older than him, and this was going on in my late teens. So he would have been about what, 10 years old at the time? I really doubt he was allowed to watch C-SPAN in grammar school.

I think your post about the book deserves it’s own thread.

I just called the main DC number 202.863.8500. I then entered “5” for the political extension. Told the girl why I was calling and was transferred to Josh. I plan to call back tomorrow to try to find his boss to relay the conversation.

“He told me that the RNC was not going to help Newt and for me to put my support to Romney.”

You know what? That’s fine. You know why? We can win without the RNC’s support, but the RNC can’t win without our votes. If that’s the way they want to play, then they’ve made themselves irrelevant and the best thing for us to do is just to adapt and go around them. Let the dinosaurs be left wondering what the heck happened when all of a sudden THEY are a 3rd party.

In truth the dems and the repubs are a consolidation of crooks and crony capitalists and both ought to be referred to as the Establishment Party. And for the true conservative constitutionalist patriots, well we can be the TEA Party.

Yes, of course, chances are Josh is not really qualified to discuss the finer points of Republican politics, he’s just a phone monkey. However, if that is the case, then the RNC needs to train folks like Josh not to get into these kinds of discussions and offer their personal opinions.

I deal with customers at my work, and there are things I’m not qualified to talk about that they ask me about all the time. I’m not allowed to just go ahead and opine about them even though that’s outside my domain of expertise, I have to refer them to someone else in the company that is qualified to field those questions. Why should Josh be any different?

Most expect the RNC and the state of Florida to be honest about the primary and make a full and public disclosure regarding their decision on the delegates. OR is that asking too much?
I am no longer a Republican. I refuse to donate to them and had a similiar (but not quite as biased) and inane conversation with them on the phone too. I hope this information is sent to the National Chairman, Priebus! it is infuriating the way they have treated Newt Gingrich.
So glad that you did contact Gingrich staff in regards to this...thanks for sharing with us ...now we can take action and call the RNC and share our thoughts ...lol
