Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturdays Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.
We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday, Mr. Gingrich said. Super Tuesday and beyond look good.
The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.
We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place, Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

Where are you getting your numbers? Fox is way behind you.
There it is! Santorum is a full on scumbag. Some feel sorry for him but I refuse to. He has a dark side and all you have to do is look at his face and you can see it.
I started disliking him intensely during the last debate when he played off Romneys attacks on Newt. He didn’t score anything. All he did is show what he really is...a cheap opportunist!
Mormon vote for Romney with his stalking horse for VP splitting the votes.
WTG Santohuckabee.
CNN
CNN Faux is awful.
>> Mr. Rick is our Perot and he knows it. POS!!!!!!!!
Just call him “Ross Santorum”.
In 2008 Ron Paul was 2nd with less than 14%.
Everyone should keep that in mind when seeing tonight's result.
CNN has 9% in
Romney at 45%
Gingrich 22%
Paul 22%
Santorum 11%
Should be drastic increase in a couple of minutes, as most of the voting will be over.
Santorum failed to qualify for the ballot in IN, IL, VA, & DC; also he does not qualify for all of the delegates in TN & OH.
Some not-Romney candidate he would be.
No, thanks.
Sure doesn’t look like Mit is going to break forty this year.....Again the combination of two is larger than his total...
How many total delegates....Divided proportionately by county or by state total?
Hey everyone. Saw on Huckabee. Obama and Facebook are huge partners for his reelection. We are feeding into thierry mega information system. No wonder Obama meets with Zuckerberg. Alot of his info on voters comes from data we input on Facebook. We should try a Facebook blackout sept. or Oct.
Why would anyone even speculate that Newt would be dropping out in the first place? Absurd. The electorate is 25% Mormon! Nevada means absolutely nothing. Newt could spend $100 million and still lose. The elites are chomping at the bit for Mittens to be reigned champ.
Tactically, a strong Ron Paul second in Nevada wouldn’t be so bad for Newt. Gingrich was never never going to win in Mormon-land anyway, and a muddled result at least dampens the inevitability narrative that Romney’s relying upon.
Santorum’s last in the polls and last in the delegate count. He’s not on the ballot in IN, IL, VA, & DC, and he doesn’t qualify for all of the delegates in TN & OH.
So what do we have to take to the bank?
Squat.

Santorum couldn't beat his way out of a paper bag.
You wanted Perry out so Santorum would surge. Still waiting...
