The other states have to come through and get behind Newt so we have a conservative at the top of the ticket. I still believe that we would had been better off if the people would just unite to stop Romney. Newt, we can keep him on track. Romney, will say to heck with you all. It is not over. Of those still standing, I am on the Newt train. People have to have guts to fight. Who wants 4 years of Romneycare thrown on us where he little by little changes America. We want something better.

I have been around a long time and always pulled the R lever because I believed in the Republican values, the constitution etc.

After McCain I just felt used. Like I was a rube being manipulated by the RNC who doesn’t give a damn about me, or my family, or the constitution. I am certainly fed up. And Romney is just the standard big government enabler I have been disgusted by. Newt has conviction and Romney is definitely the country club, big government RINO.

We are on the brink of financial ruin. I am seriously worried about my family now. I am mostly interested in finance, and we will likely hit a hyper-inflationary scenario that will bankrupt all of our savings. The math is the math. We are past ever being able to pay this down. If interest rates spike it is over. We will be impoverished.

This is not the time for the “Goldman Sachs” candidate (Romney) or it is game over for the middle class American. We will be reduced to begging the government for handouts as our money will be worthless, then it is the straight path to socialist tyranny and global governance - as we will be broke, desperate, scared serfs by then.

Rick Santorum must drop out. He has no shot, and his continued campaigning will only serve to get Mittens the nomination by splitting the Conservative vote.

Comments about a third party are spot on.

Any political organization that tosses 40-60 percent of its constituents aside is asking for division. Furthermore, it is the more conservative group that leaves the more liberal bunch almost every time. Economic disaster is usually a hugely effective catalyst for change.

I fearlessly predict the Pubs are finished this time around if they ignore the conservatives. Sort of like the Whig Party in the U.S. and the Liberal Party in the U.K. They may stay around for a while in some form or fashion, but they will no longer function as a viable governing alternative.

I forced myself to read the entire article.

Interestingly enough, the reporter gets it. By Newt Gingrich staying in and winning some primaries, he just might save the Grand Old Party from a severe split or the formation of a third party were Romney to become the early nominee.

If people do not get to the polls and vote, mcromney is gonna win it... if it goes to a brokered convention, the party bigwigs will make sure mcromney wins it... the only way to get mcromney out of this is at the ballot box... and there are plenty of people ( including a number of so called freepers ) creating an aura of “voter apathy” in other words, do not even bother to vote, because my guy will win.... along with other tactics.... newt lost florida, and there are over 2 million reasons why... over 2 million registed republicans did not even bother to go and vote... Unfortunately, the GOP and the elites believe that a weak-ass republican candidate will win over the new base that they continually court. You know, the independents and conservative democrats. As usual, the GOP thinks that they can roll over the conservatives, because where else are we going to go, right?

I drew the line with McCain and took a lot of grief over it. Never will I vote for Romney. Ain't happening. Hoping that the GOP elites wake up soon. Don't care who gets the VP nomination. They could nominate Drew Brees for VP and I ain't voting for Romney.
