TAMPA, Fla. - Mitt Romney is carrying a full head of steam after winning the Florida primary, but the Republican presidential contender isnt headed first today for Nevada or Maine, the next two states to vote.
Instead, he is jetting off this morning to Minnesota for what is billed as a grassroots rally.
Why?
Michele Bachmann, it seems.

Things that make you go hmmmm......
Wonder how much $$$ he is offering? She has 23 adopted children to support.
How many Benjamins will be stuffed into his suitcases? We will find out what type of person Bachmann is.
Conventional wisdom says she should run from this, but she blew through a boatload of her congressional war chest so she is going to need some money.
I gotta hand it to Mitt. He knows how to work for this nomination. Why is Newt not in Minnesota? Mitt is such a jerk so hopefully this does not work.
If MB endorses Romney, I will beleive every ounce of her conservative, God fearing credentials were a fraud.
Mitt makes another Niccolo Machiavelli move right from the play book.
“We will find out what type of person Bachmann is.”
We sure will, won’t we?
I wonder if it is too late to have a conservative run against her for the congressional seat shoudl she endorse him.
I am tired of how shallow these so-called conservatives are.
I will never vote for Romney, not even if he gets Bachman, or someone similar, to agree to be his VP.
That was the plan all along, wasn’t it?
She’s on now and says she isn’t endorsing anyone right now.
Ha ha! She said it isn’t true. She didn’t endorse him. They are trying to force her. LOL
Of course he is. It will be the battle of girls Bachmann and Palin. Going against each other. what slime
Not only would it add to the impression of Romney consolidating the GOP base after rebounding in Florida from his South Carolina loss, but it could help Bachmann by earning her an ally to help her pay off her lingering campaign debt.
If she does this, she has sold her soul ....
She is on FOX now. She is not in Minnesota, she is not meeting with anyone and did not endorse Romney.
“If she does this, she has sold her soul ....”
Too the establishment, no less.
If she does endorse Mitt, she will have lost her place amongst the true conservatives in this country.
Could be some political rivalries at play here too. Many people, at least several months ago, viewed Bachmann as a Palin wannabe. Perhaps Bachmann sees an opportunity here. If she thinks Sarah has backed a losing horse, perhaps she thinks siding with a potential winner (Romney) will boost her political stature at the expense of Sarah's.
Good.
plus campaign debt (if any)
“She is on FOX now. She is not in Minnesota, she is not meeting with anyone and did not endorse Romney.”
Well the source of this story is The Boston Globe afterall. It may just be part of the Romney campaign strategy.
