A local radio guy here in LA said that there was a poll that showed 51% of Florida Republicans described themselves as moderates. Only 29% said they were Conservatives.
If thats true, Newt never had a chance.
This is immensely encouraging
If Rush tells us to support Romney to make sure that Obama doesn’t win, we’ll know he has really jumped the shark.
You are probably having trouble finding posts cuz we are all engrossed in watching Fashion Police on E. At least I am. :-)
It’s over. If Gingrich can’t win a major state like Florida, he won’t win the nomination. And I voted for Gingrich.
We true conservatives need to devise a strategy for November. I just heard Mittens say that he will have a united party at the National Convention in August. I take huge exception to that.
We need to send a SERIOUS nessage to all RINOs. Supporting them blindly against Obama will get us bupkis in the end.
Interesting that Gingerich took almost all of the “old Florida” counties right up through the center of the state from the Everglades north across the Panhandle. Many of those counties called “cracker” country by the LSM. The conservative base holds. Just not enough of us in the big city population areas of transplanted yankees.
This isn’t over until someone wins 1,050 delegates.
And if its Romney, I ain’t voting
Which proves what Ive been saying..true conservatives will NOT vote for Romney in the general election, it will be just like 2008, McCain didnt get enough Conservative votes and neither will Romney, gee you would have thought people would have learned their lesson by now and stop nominating liberals with R’s next to their name
So a “true conservative” is someone that agrees with Newt’s position for the last several years that there should be an individual mandate?
You shouldn’t be confused that the above question means I supported Romney.
A 4% “win” among evangelicals? That’s no win.
That’s a split vote of no impact.
Beat Obama.
In other words there are very few voters looking for a true conservative in FL and that small group really like Newt.
One of the problems with seniors is they remember Newt all too well. My folks don’t have a favorable view of Newt.
But then they don’t care for Romney either.
Most of the senior probably voted for who they thought could win. The TV experts tell them and thats what they do.
is Floriduh an OPEN PRIMARY???????
GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, Romney doubled down and played dirty Ted Kennedy negative ads to win Florida. He learned from the best while he was Taxachusetts Gov. This is far from over, let it continue and lets not give Romney a free ride. Lets make him spend his money.
They just ran that stat on CNN too....
I don’t believe it but I’m watching freakin’ CNN- watched fox for a second - Brit Hume came on and that was about that - click*
“For voters who valued “true conservative” credentials as their top quality, Gingrich led with 46 percent...”
That’s the good news for Newt. The bad news of course is that “true conservatives” only make up 30-40% of the population as a whole. And Newt doesn’t have much appeal outside that group.
the problem i see is the quishy moderates. They are more dangerous than liberals. At least I know where the liberals stand!!!
I'm actually pretty glad this primary is going the way it is. People are getting majorly pissed off and the status quo "entertainers" and talking heads of "the right" are going to have a pretty damn tough time in the not so distant future.
Romney taking more votes than Newt + Santorum combined should put more than a bit of fear into supporters of both.
And Tea Party Patriots...
