The stock photo was then sold to New York City's Department of Health, who digitally altered the photo to remove Berry's right leg and is using the photo as part of an anti-diabetes campaign.
"I cried at my computer screen for, like, a minute." Berry said of first seeing the altered photo. "I said: 'Oh my gosh, they even gave me crutches. Come on, people.' "
The health department said it's common practice to alter photos without the model's participation. And Berry agrees he signed a waiver before the shoot, allowing for such alterations and distribution.
"This issue isn't about one actor but rather the 700,000 New Yorkers who struggle with diabetes, which kills 1,700 people a year and causes amputations in another 3,000," said John Kelly, a spokesman for the health department, in a statement. "Advertising to warn the public about health concerns saves lives, and we will continue our efforts to warn New Yorkers about diabetes."

95% of all amputations I took care of in the hospital were from diabetes. Uncontrolled especially it kills early. I learned to give diabetes great respect as to what it can do to the human body including blindness..
Amen! 41 years with type one and still have all digits.
You cannot even see his face...
Wasn’t there a Friends episode where Joey’s picture is used in an AIDS awareness campaign without his knowledge.
Yeah, thats some good acting there you ‘effing crybaby.
I see your point. If the demand is slight, the supply should be great or at least adequate. I learned that in Econ 101
I never heard of this actor “Berry” but like they say, “Any publicity is good publicity”.
He’ll only end up more well-known.
Maybe he should take some Pamprin or have some herbal tea, or just take a stroll on the beach, Masingill-style...
I remember a much funnier story a couple of years ago tracing the incredible number of websites a "perky chick" clip photography model ended up on. That girl could do anything!
NP. In this day and age, you should expect ALL photos to be photoshopped.
Next week, the caption (substituting thermometers for the drinks) will read
The guy said that the bus driver made him get off there because it was the end of the route -- typical civil serpent that they are. The poor old man had gotten on the wrong bus and had no clue where he was. He was really lost, and there would be no more buses running until 6am.
Maybe I'm a sap, but I could not walk away and leave him there. I told him I would give him a ride to where he could get a bus that late to get back home -- and that was not a place I would normally go that time of night.
It was about a 20 minute ride to get there in a mostly welfare high crime area where I dropped him off at a major bus stop. By this time it was 11:30 at night.
Right next to the bus station is a MacDonalds. It was the only thing open in that area. The drive-through was backed up through their parking lot and for about a half block down the street. Must have been 50 cars waiting in line. It looked like it should have been lunch time, not bed time.
There was a time in life when a Big Mac, Coke and fries was an occasional treat that would do no harm. I have a feeling that today, it's a only kind of food some people eat. It's not a diet that promotes good health.
Isn't LBJs 'Great Society' great?
