Good Conservative Source for News to replace Drudge? (Vanity)
Posted on 01/30/2012 5:58:10 AM PST by crosshairs
I would like ideas for a good central source for news now that Drudge has his lips firmly attached to Romney's ass. I want to take Drudge off of my Favorites list.

Crosshairs,
One of our fellow freepers recommended this site earlier. I have checked it out and it looks good but the formatting leaves much to be desired.

How hard would it be for FR to create a page like Drudge’s? It’s basically a bunch of links and a few photos, assorted by category (we’d need a rogue’s gallery for the MSM) and updated daily. In fact FR is always quicker to report news than Drudge; a little “bulletin” section like Drudge’s siren would never lack attention.

agree.
FR could have what Drudge has infact we do , all what it needs IMHO is to just change the site a little and take Drudge and the establishment including FOX out of the equation .
Far too many still are getting their news from the MSM or places like Drudge and they then think they are being told the truth.
Lets face it half of this country sit there turn the TV on and turn FOX on and then think they are being told the truth and then repeat what FOX states or the RNC talking heads say without doing their own research

Amen to that. Been done with Drudge for a while now. Free Republic, plus certain keywords/topics through News.Google.com and I'm not really missing. I still pop back by occasionally to see just how bad Drudge or Fox News is, and it usually reinforces my decisions.

Somebody here (can't remember who now) put this site up last week.
Better than Drudge was before he started kizzin' Romney's azz.

It's impossible to deny that Drudge has taken an incredible Pro Romney bent, but it's still worth reading just to get the take from that faction.
Lots of us read NTY (when it was free) WaPo, LA Times, Chosun Ilbo, J Times, Hindustan Times (unfortunately a little Bollywood heavy), etc.
I don't agree with a lot of their slants, but if the story is worthwhile, you can always dig up other sources.
Listening to a wide variety of viewpoints and then drawing a conclusion based on facts and values is a key part of being a Conservative.

After the garbage Drudge has been posting, I would think the Enquirer would do a much better job. I have recently even found myself watching liberal channels I have not watched since the 90’s just to get some inside information Fox is not willing to give.

Just my humble opinion, but I am not done with Drudge yet. He has done too much good in countering the MSM over the years.
He did dump on Newt, but did not publish it, only linked to it and showcased it. All this stuff was going to come anyway, in a steady stream or drip-drip-drip.
Thanks to Drudge, a huge stockpile of ammo against Newt was exploded all on the same day. And I dearly hope he wins Florida, my former home.

After I sent the request, it immediately occurred to me that this is the best place. Plus there's the bonus of a lot of humorous posts. I love this site. I would like to find other sources too, though.

FOX and friends was the last show I turned on and that was when I was getting ready and sit down before the day starts.
After this morning I turned them off and went to CNN, first time in over 10 years.
I’ve had it with FOX, not once have they pointed out who the real Romney is, not once , instead all attacks just like Drudge.

It may be because of the weekend, but Drudge’s numbers dropped from 30 million as of the 28th, to...21.7 million as of the 30th. (...and you know, some of those numbers were Freepers checking his numbers.)
