I am beginning to think that the nature and level of attacks being launched by Mitt Romney against Newt Gingrich, which he would surely use against any conservative threatening his nomination, are going to make it very difficult for Romney to unite the different factions of the GOP and the conservative movement behind his candidacy should he win the nomination. While I have said that I would vote for Rick Santorum, I am appalled at the "anything goes" assault on Gingrich. See here:
Romney is not a conservative in the traditional sense, and he has a record of big-government Republicanism. Even many years after the success of the Reagan administration, he sought to distance himself from Reagan and the GOP, self-identifying as a progressive and independent. Thus, he resorts to spending multi-millions of dollars trashing his opponents, rather than providing thoughtful arguments on conservatism and constitutionalism. Lest we forget, it was Gingrich who was trying to run a positive campaign and who offered to debate Romney one-on-one, asking Romney to stop with the millions in unanswered ads attacking him. Romney declined. I have no doubt that Romney would do the same thing to Santorum if Santorum was rising in the polls, albeit on different issues.

Please Floridians, push back this compromised Ken doll and VOTE for Newt on Tuesday! I’m so tired of hearing from the mainstream republican commentators that the only choice is Romneycare, mean Romney, oh...same thing.
When the coordinated attacks came Thursday, listened to Rush question if it was true while the Fox people read from their scripts, very disappointed. Turns out their facts were wrong.
Let’s show them and vote Newt!
In 2008 we cleansed the national conscience and voted for the black candidate. Today we are going to cleanse it again by voting for the Mormon. We will end up with Obama-Lite. It's the Mountain Meadows Massacre all over again, except today they are using attack ads. Bless their hearts.
The “Devil” is, literally, in the details!
While I get the point, somehow I don’t see Mittens as a man who has ever done his own laundry.
And then when I see how Mitt has attack Newt and how the media have taken Mitt's side.
Reality is slipping in and out of focus.;-)
I don’t believe Mark Levin is in the tank,so to speak, for Romney.
Drudge, Hume, Krauthammer and Coulter definitely.
imo, we ought to focus more on Levin’s STRONG criticisms of Romney, and Levin does it all the time, and said that Romney is mean, and used the same bad tactics in 2008.
Mark Levin, wrongly, or rightly, defending a friend (Drudge) doesn’t mean that much. Drudge isn’t running for president.
btw, for some reason, I was under the impression Drudge liked Ron Paul, but that’s just my impression.
Reality is slipping in and out of focus.;-)
Good point and very accurate. At this rate, obama wins re-election.
By attacking each other this viciously, the Republicans are giving 0bama all the ammunition he will ever need to defeat the Republican nominee.
Bottom line: Obama is very, very Evil and that Evil will be very difficult to defeat.
You’re preaching to the choir. If we had the luxury of constucting the perfect candidate, I’d agree. But as you well know there are many major issues, one of which you speak. I feel your pain, and anger, on that particular subject, as our children are the future, and the attempts to poison their minds all across this great country. But Odumbos minions are doing the same thing on a wider scale across the school landscape and vertically in our institutions of higher learning. You are right of course, that it may be the lesser of two evils for this election. But I just cannot see, all things considered, how Mittens could be worse than Odumbo. I also have colleagues who are homosexual, and some family as well. But that is not to compromise the beliefs and ideals originally put forth by our founding fathers, imho. You make some excellent points but I cannot with good conscience NOT vote the GOP ticket, no matter what it is. We must think farther into the future past this current election (while winning it) in order to correct what has gone wrong in and out of our party (whichever it is) for so long. I think the real power will be in the Congress, no matter who the P/VP may be. Go Newt/West!
May God hold, and keep, America in His hand.
That's Romney!
I am also a Mark Levin fan and note that “the great one” said he’d vote for an orange juice can over Obama. I share that view, voted for Romney over McCain in the 2008 primary, and am a strong Gingrich supporter this campaign.
However, the slash-and-burn tactics of the Romney campaign must stop. If he wins by knee-capping Newt he will lose conservatives in the general election. That’s bad for America.
Obama hasn't half the power that Romney has...and Romney is just now showing his true face in his attacks on Newt.
He is ugly and determined...and his power base has been put into place for many years.
Poor widdle Obama...we nevva knew ya!
All hail Mitt...the great White Horse!
LOL...that guy is a lot heavier than me...but that cat I do not trust (checking my litter boxes for tin foil fur balls).;-)
Romney’s record isn’t even as conservative as Algore’s and he’s as much of a liar as 0bama. His character is absolutely atrocious. Mark Levin is The Great One, and he deserves the title, but he needs to get a grip.
I was listening when Mark mentioned Drudge. Come on-—his defense was hardly “forceful.” He was speaking in a conversational tone of voice, and he said he encouraged people to back off Drudge. Mark is one of the good guys. Please let’s take a moment and recall the past Thursday, when Mark gave a fantastic, passionate defense of Newt, and exposed Romney for the fraud that he is.
LOL. Need a RuPaul bong to go there.
I used to " visit" Drudge at least two or three times a day... no more! I won't give him the hits. I suggest we all do that now.
