esident Barack Obama spoke at Saturday night's Alfalfa Club dinner in Washington poking fun at himself and fellow leaders.
The annual black-tie banquet is an exclusive gathering of many of Washington's business and political elite.
"You've heard it from the pundits: 'Obama is cloistered in the White House.' 'He's aloof.' 'He's in the bubble.' He's not connecting,'" said Obama. "And thats why one of my big goals this year was to get out and be among every day, ordinary Americans -- like the men and women of the Alfalfa Club."
The president, who broke into song at a recent fundraiser in New York City, also joked about his singing. "At least my harshest critics can agree... I have a promising future as an Al Green impersonator," he said.

"Speaker Boehner, it is good to see you at the head table. I know how badly Eric Cantor wanted your seat," he said.
"John, I want you to know: I am eager to work with members of Congress to be entertaining tonight. But if Congress is unwilling to cooperate, I will be funny without them," he added.

Among the moguls and politicos spotted on the red carpet, held under a white tent in front of the hotel and away from the protesting: President G. H. W. Bush and his son Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida, who visited with the President on Friday afternoon at the White House, as well as President George Bush; President Obama’s favorite billionaire, Warren Buffett; tech entrepreneur Steve Case; Sen. John Kerry (D-MA); Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT); and Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr.. Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) was among those who got glitter-bombed by members of Occupy DC as he crossed the street to get to the red carpet with companions (video below).
Among the other VIPs reported to be in attendance: John Boehner, Mike Bloomberg, John Kerry, Pat Leahy, Steny Hoyer, Mark Warner, Steve Case, Cal Ripken and José Andrés.
The club was founded in 1913 and its function was to celebrate the birthday of Confederate Civil War General Robert E. Lee; it didn’t admit blacks until 1974, and women until 1994.[

Are you sure he wasn’t speaking at The She-Man America Haters Club?
I wonder if Boehner was drooling our Biden’s wife?
LOL!
I prefer Eddie Murphy impersonating Buckwheat than Bam doing Al Green.

That is what is called "campaigning" on taxpayer dime.

More PC speak.
Why can't they use everyday language like everybody else and just say it the way it is?
Obama has his thumb up his butt.
Hey, tell the one about Bill Ayers blowing up the pentagon again. That one always leaves me in stitches.
Alfalfa Club
The Alfalfa Club is a Washington, D.C. social organization that exists only to hold an annual banquet on the last Saturday of January.[2] The club's membership, which numbers about 200, is composed primarily of American politicians and influential members of the United States business community, and has included several Presidents of the United States. The group's name is a reference to the plant's supposed willingness to do anything for a drink.[2]
It is true that every time this man's lips moves he lies.
“Black tie banquet” - filthy stinkin’ racists.
Give him four more years and Floridians will be building rafts to escape to Cuba.
