You knew that Newt did ask for Santorum votes at a nice, medium sized venue this afternoon. We got to watch the livestream link to the event, thanks to an FR poster. He said, I am paraphrasing the points, that mathematically Rick was not going to win Florida and that voting for him on Tuesday helps Mitt, and asked them to go out and talk to their friends about that, between now and Tuesday.
I certainly hope that Texas financiers for Perry were able and willing to meet Perry’s request to assist and back Newt.
Publically, I heard one was named who did not, but have no idea about where the rest went. Surely, Rick had some chips of his own to call in and some influence left to persuade. Lord have Mercy. The money is key in Florida, but Newt has a ground game that is flew under the radar in South Carolina and I hope they brought it to Florida. I read at redstate.com that his campaign used local sheriffs!

Yes, you’re absolutely right. I don’t know what is in his head. Frankly, I am not totally convinced he believes he can take Florida, but with GRETA he said, speaking of both Romney and himself, that if it’s very close then this will go on, but don’t remember that he said how long. Other reports quote him as saying it will go to the convention, so maybe that quote finishes what I heard him say on Greta.

Is C-SPAN going to start their live feed late so that we miss part of the speech? Nothing would surprise me when it comes to the kind of coverage Newt gets.
says “live shortly” at the bottom. Newt’s been busy today, and was running a tad behind schedule anyhow. IOw, I don’t think CSPAN is doing this on purpose.
