I know things are changing by the day, but it's good to know how the demographics are lining-up.

Old news=old polls.

Monday should have some new poll results. That’s what we need.

speaking with an local evangelical leader last week, he was of the opinion that if Romney was protestant instead of Mormon they would overwhelming be for him. Gingrich’s “baggage” bothers them greatly but religion trumps.

It’s not the leaders, it’s the folks on the ground that matter...

True, but the trend direction generally predicts for at least a couple of days ahead.

Hey, Gingrich wasn’t supposed to win South Carolina, either. What can I say.

If evangelicals are breaking for Newt, all the more reason for Santorum to fold his tent.

Quinnipiac is a junk poll.

However, most reliable polls show Newt 5-7% behind Mitt in Florida. Two polls stated that some coalescing was starting to happen, however, and that there was a slight trend toward Newt in that respect.

Newt needs to maximize turnout and we need to convince undecideds and Santorum backers to vote strategically in Florida by backing Newt to defeat Mitt.

The weekend polls will be interesting, as will Monday’s. If the trend ticks Newt’s way and starts showing a 2-5% race, the Tea Party can make this an all-nighter with turnout and effort.

The percentage of votes going to Ron Paul and Santorum are going to make a difference in Florida....a difference that spells almost certain defeat for Newt.

Why don't those two egotists bow out gracefully in favor of saving the Republic?

There is no evidence that Paul voters would go to Newt.

However, it is undeniable that Santorum is taking votes right out of Newt’s hyde.

I am afraid we may be at the mercy of Santorum voters, and whether or not they can be pragmatic in Florida. If His Florida supporters on FR are any indication, we are in trouble. A final result of Mitt 29.0%, Newt 28.9%, Rick 11.3% doesn’t seem to make them tremble is fear in the way it makes most of us shudder.

I am still praying the pragmatism will guide them, if nothing else.

It’s called selective reporting.

Here’s the Quinninipiac Press release, note the reference to the Wednesday poll which this posted article uses.

Just four days before the nation’s first big-state presidential primary, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney opens up a 38 - 29 percent lead over former House Speaker Newt Gingrich among Republican likely voters in Florida, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Only 6 percent are undecided, but 32 percent say they might change their mind by Tuesday.

This compares to results of a January 25 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University, showing Romney with 36 percent of likely primary voters to Gingrich’s 34 percent. Wednesday’s survey showed Gingrich ahead 40 - 34 percent among voters surveyed after the South Carolina primary.

I pray the Lord will lift Newt up and give him this win.

Rick Santorum——we love you, but it is way past time to go. Do the honorable and right thing. Take a cue from Rick Perry-——bow out NOW, before the primary, so Newt can benefit.

If this presidential election turns out bad, I hope Santorum realizes what it will be like to be remembered as the guy who handed Florida to Romney on a silver platter.

The absentee ballots may decide florida. A record number were sent out. Mysteriously lost and/or found votes will be a factor.
