There is no evidence that Paul voters would go to Newt.

However, it is undeniable that Santorum is taking votes right out of Newt’s hyde.

I am afraid we may be at the mercy of Santorum voters, and whether or not they can be pragmatic in Florida. If His Florida supporters on FR are any indication, we are in trouble. A final result of Mitt 29.0%, Newt 28.9%, Rick 11.3% doesn’t seem to make them tremble is fear in the way it makes most of us shudder.

I am still praying the pragmatism will guide them, if nothing else.

If this presidential election turns out bad, I hope Santorum realizes what it will be like to be remembered as the guy who handed Florida to Romney on a silver platter.

Face it, all the ABR (Anyone But Romney) candidates have warts. As long as Santorum goes up when/if Gingrich goes down in the polls, the ABR vote will be sufficient to beat Romney. And we’re better off having an alternative if Gingrich blows himself out the water, which he’s perfectly capable of doing on any given day (See pic of him on couch, or remember the “right-wing social engineering” comment.)

And I’ve noticed that Santorum seems to gain when Gingrich falters, so he’s not out of it yet. Frankly, I don’t care which of the two ends up on top, but it’s way too early in the process to assume that Romney is going to lock it up by winning Florida. Besides, Florida lost half of their delegates by running an early primary, cutting their influence significantly.

After I posted the contact page info for Santorum yesterday, the page was removed. Here’s how you can reach him (or his campaign) if you’d like to suggest that he drop out:

Rick Santorum for President
PO Box 37
Verona, PA 15147
888.321.6675 [also 603-836-5941]
Info@RickSantorum.com

For Press Inquires, please contact:
Matt Beynon
Matt@RickSantorum.com

In Florida:

1680 Fruitville Road
Suite 102
Sarasota, FL 34236
Fax: 484.229.0062
teamflorida@ricksantorum.com

For other states, maybe the state name followed by @ricksantorum.com would work, but better google it first.

If Santorum takes one for the team and withdraws from the FL race, we won’t forget it. If he stays in and pulls enough votes from Newt to result in a Romney win, we won’t forget that either.
